Air freight to Thailand

Featured Replies

Some rubbishers on the Health and medicine Forum are saying that

Cargo air shipments to Thailand  are only allowed now from China and Russia

Where does this idea come from? Was there some kind of announcement?

What does Russia have to offer Thailand but caviar and vodka?

Here is the flight data from a UPS

plane that arrived in BKK today from Shenzen.  No reason that it could not have included cargo from the US

or any other country that I know of.

Eva have regular cargo flights into Thailand, have done for years, as part of the Evergreen Logistics network.  Some of these flights do transit through China on the way to Thailand,  and often through  Hong Kong or Hainan.

Settle down Captain Monday. Its not only caviar and vodka coming in as air freight.

All air traffic into Bangkok is carrying cargo from various countries, its not limited to China and Russia

In the past few minutes an EgyptAir cargo flight departed to Cairo from Suvanabhumi.
And a KLM scheduled flight to Amsterdam - while not a cargo dedicated service, it is carrying cargo, and brought cargo with it inbound
There is a Lufthansa A340 inbound. It will be carrying cargo from Frankfurt.

It's all good, there is no conspiracy about air cargo going on

Bangkok has always been a hub for cargo as well as passengers. I've suspect that Bangkok has been a hub for Covid-19 related freight as its easier to hub into BKK from other SE Asians airports and the Mid East hubs. Quicker turn around of aircraft especially as passenger aircraft take longer to load and unload freight carried in the passenger cabin.

So, who cares? The bigger problem is getting Thai Customs Depts sticky fingers off it.

And now its a even bigger issue, just got whacked on two small packages from Japan sent by regular air mail, that previously was never an issue.

The boss at our post office told me he has never seen so many packages before all being hit with duty & tax. The rack was staked full awaiting collection.

Take care on what you are having sent as for sure someone has instructed the BKK customs guys the government need to find ways to rake in some coin.
