There is no way in hell it is just one new infection, but I'll take it.  Hospitals are not overwhelmed and white smoke is not billowing from temples non-stop.  We are doing a decent job here in T

  • Just 1 positive out of a population of 70 million....... the daily flatulence from the ministry!   Magical Thailand, next illusion feeding their own people.?     Maybe tomorro

Give it time, now that the alcohol ban has been lifted and mostly Thai's, and some others getting closer together and not adhering to social distancing rules IMO.

Its because it was a holiday yesterday! I still cannot understand how the 40 out of 78 in the deep south who tested positive, twice, yesterday, can now just disappear from the stats!

Good! It's time they lifted the alcohol ban in my province. Makes no sense at all.

Maybe tomorrow they can go for zero positive from a total of 3 tested nationwide!! with a crowd of generals all back slapping pointing at a huge zero in congratulations.

What a photo op that would be along with some photos of the queueing Thais waiting for a food handout from a group of farangs!!

Thailand reports one new coronavirus case, no new deaths

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand on Tuesday reported one new coronavirus case and no new deaths, the lowest number of new infections since March 9.

The new case is a 45-year-old Thai man from the southern province of Narathiwat, authorities said.

The number of new cases have been declining in the last two weeks with the exception of a cluster at an immigration detention centre in southern Thailand that has seen 60 new cases in that period, said Taweesin Wisanuyothin, spokesman for the government's Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration.

Since Thailand's outbreak began in January, the country has seen a total of 2,988 coronavirus cases and 54 deaths. Taweesin said 2,747 patients have recovered, while 187 are still being treated in hospitals.

So 187 then, not 2988.

Good job, well done. ????

Why all this about not testing, the UK have quadruple there testing over the last few days I would have thought we would see increase of cases from there but no increase only a decrease in cases and deaths so maybe testing is not everything

Meanwhile India, which has been under a stricter lockdown than Thailand for a longer period, reported almost 4,000 new cases on Monday and 195 deaths. So what is Thailand doing right that India is doing wrong?

Easy, someone posted who was not authorized too, and now those tests have vanished and replaced with only the 18 Rohingya in the detention center...but zero elsewhere....bad boy to post something from the south without asking the MOPH....go figure...

If anyone believes this they must be either insane or stupid. China, Wuhan, 0 infections:cheesy:. I've been saying this for ages Prayut is taking this straight from the CCP playbook of non-transperency and misinformation. Add to that a complete lack of testing and you get this absolute lie to the people of Thailand. Unfortunately there are many blind sheep that will take this as truth.

If you compare the number of deaths in Thailand from Covid 19 this year in total with the number of deaths of the first four months from the standard flu virus (8k [Thailand data from 2017 of around 24k deaths for the year as reported in a thread on here by another poster]), then you would have to believe that the Covid 19 mortality rate in Thailand is about one half of one percent (54/8,000) as deadly as the normal flu. Doesn't reflect what is being reported in the rest of the world outside of China

Confused.

Not overbreeding, perhaps. India has a population 15 times the size of Thailand's and a population density 3 times greater.

Namibia has seen 16 infections and no deaths. Perhaps we need to ask what they are doing right that Thailand is doing wrong.

Let's see which one leaks local results first today, Phuket or Yala. Or maybe they've managed to get test kits to a third province and we'll get a new leak.

Or maybe the powers that be have gotten to those who are in positions to leak the data after the revelation of the 40 cases that now aren't really cases.

60 million vs 1,3 BILLION people. My 6 year old understand this.

I do not think any country is telling the true numbers of infections only those in hospital not the cases that they known about with no symptoms or sent home for 14 day quarantine

They are all having an agenda, either understating the number to gain credibility as good leaders or overstating to push through a hidden agenda.

What is  their testing criteria? Does anybody know a reliable source for this info

From what is now coming out figures are at least 10x what the 'official' figures are in regards to infection. In regards to deaths it's hard to know. The UK wasn't including deaths in oldies homes for example.

Research shows that Drinking leo can sanitize internal organs.  Also Fibre allows Leo lovers to frequent the loo often which leads to excreting bacteria more often

Well your 6-year old must be almost as dumb as you evidently are, lol.

How does having a population just twenty times as large as Thailand's result in four thousand times as many new cases in one day, as well as 195 deaths compared with none in Thailand for several days now?

Seems like the deep south is becoming the new hot spot in country. Many feel like "gods will" will either afflict them with virus, or not, and social distancing makes no difference.

Latest is only available in Thai, updated 1. May, straight from MoPH: https://ddc.moph.go.th/viralpneumonia/file/g_srrt/g_srrt_010563.pdf

Getting to be a PUI is no guarantee you'll actually be tested all the way to "Confirmed", though. You could end up indefinitely as a "Probable".

Thailand are just better in telling lies then India.
