Indeed but I am in the agreement side - suspect it is popular because tastes more like US flavored water than German beer.  Never much of an alcohol drinker but recall when living in Germany during the 60's enjoyed the taste of some, like Binding, but never liked Heineken.

German beers are the best and purest beer due to their "Reinheitsgebot".

It’s actually quite good. Especially ice cold after you have been out in the sun it’s very refreshing. And does no harm to take a break from alcohol now and then. I’ve started to mix this in with my alcohol fuelled days.

Agree ! Tesco (in Phetchabun) stocks it, as well as most Mom & Pops. Tesco doesn't sell it during 'prohibition' hours - reasoning that is branded Heineken, go figure. It is also more expensive than normal beer...

It's amazing and amusing how one or two in this thread (and all the 'booze ban' threads) who aren't big drinkers or don't drink at all

Oh the irony. Its a soft drink NOT a beer . Comedy gold!

Ironic indeed, but isn't this thread/sub-forum about people's attempts to reduce or stop their intake of BEER?

Could someone at Weight Watchers/Slimmers' World discuss lettuce and exercise?

Thanks for your input, though. 4,811 and still going strong. ????????????

Why would they not want to?

If it’s alcohol free,it’s really not beer, nor tastes like it. Instead of an expensive parody why not just soda water or any other proper non alcoholic drink at a fraction of the price?

I bought some from 7-11 during 'prohibition' a few weeks ago. Since I hadn't had a beer for a couple of months it tasted okay. However, I was perusing the can for the info regarding carbohydrates, fat, sugar content etc and all the standard nutritional stats were lacking. I had (mistakingly?) thought it would be less carbs than alcoholic beer.

It is brewed the same way as the regular Heineken. After the brewing proces is finished, the alcohol is filtered out.

So you have the standard nutritional content like the regular Heineken. If you want a beer with less carbs you must drink a light beer.

It may contain no alcohol but it is a lot higher in carbohydrates than regular beer and not dissimilar to a soft drink like Coke. So might well negate any benefit to your liver, if that is the goal.

You might want to check your facts re carb content.

It's fine for people who for whatever reason (eg it destroys my insides) can't handle too much beer but still like hanging around bars. Water, sprite etc just don't do it but Heineken zero is close enough. For a few anyway.
