Bang Tao still under lockdown ‘until further notice’

PHUKET:-- MaAnn Samran, Chief of the Cherng Talay Tambon Administration (OrBorTor), today confirmed that the three villages in Cherng Talay, including Bang Tao and near Surin Beach, will remain under lockdown until he receives orders from provincial authorities allowing him to lift the lockdown restrictions.

PHUKET: The Airports of Thailand management team at Phuket International Airport (AoT Phuket) has released a list of requirements for all people using the airport once it reopens this Saturday (May 16) -- including that all people leaving the island must register their health condition on the AOT Airports app.

Kobsak Pootrakool, deputy secretary-general to the prime minister for political affairs, said he expects fresh funds for the stimulus package to shore up the economy in the third and fourth quarters of the year. 

 

The economy will be the hardest hit in the first half of year, while effects from the government’s stimulus injection will only be felt in the third quarter.

Distance learning system to be tested on May 18

BANGKOK(NNT) - With children having to study from home due to the coronavirus disease COVID-19 pandemic, the Distance Learning Foundation is helping the Ministry of Education set up distance learning and teaching programs via the digital television system, after the National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) agreed to allow students to access education through 17 TV channels.
