The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) set up a community pantry in front of its building on Monday (May 18) to help residents of the four communities nearby.

Officials said this was part of TAT’s corporate social responsibility effort and gave employees and the general public a chance to contribute.

“We also recently distributed rambutan bought from farmers in Rayong among residents of the four communities,” a TAT official said. The four communities are Rong Jay, Wat Makkasan, Rim Tang Rot Fai and Nikhom Makkasan. The official added that security guards had been placed near the pantries to ensure people coming to add or remove items strictly observe social distancing to avoid new Covid-19 cases.

“TAT employees have also raised funds to provide meals, face masks, powdered milk, rice, vegetables, dried food, seasoning and vegetable to residents of the four communities. Some of the face masks were sent to blind people living in the Rama IX community as well.”
