Tourist To Non B Visa

Featured Replies

Hello Experts,

I would like to know if I can convert my Tourist Visa into a Non B visa? I am already in Thailand and what I got here is visa upon arrival or transit visa. I am from the Philippines, do I have to go back to my country and apply to Thai immigration Philippines to get Non B Visa or Can I do it here in Bangkok without hassle? Please I need you expert advise?

Best Regards,

James

You need a reason to convert or obtain a visa from Immigration. You have not provided any so all we can do is refer you to the Immigration web site and ask you to check the "change visa" information.

I seriously doubt that you have any visa as visa on arrive is not an option for your nationality and you do not obtain a transit visa inside Thailand. You most likely have a visa exempt entry so that will mean you have to obtain a visa which requires a different application form than that used to change a visa. The cost will be 2,000 baht and application should be done with at least 21 days remaining on your permitted to stay stamp. There will be a great deal of paperwork involved as listed on the web site.

Immigration web site

I looked at this and saw in one sentance he claimed to have a Tourist visa, a visa on arrival, and a transit visa..

When I read those 3 and still figured he probably had it wrong.. I gave up.

Hello Friend,

Sorry if I make you confused..what i meant is I got my 30 days stamp upon entry here in Bangkok and according to some agent here that I cannot get a non b visa here because i didnt go and apply a tourist visa from thai embassy in the philippines.

I was just confused with the visa thing... the question here is it possible to have a non b visa here in thailand? knowing that i dont have tourist visa issued by thai embassy in philippines. I only have the sponsor letter and my passport.

thanks buddy for the cretics

You will need a real visa of one sort or another (you have a visa exemption stamp) to convert that visa into a non imm B..

So a visit to a local consul to get a single entry non B or a TV seems your game plan.

If he meets the requirements and has 21 days remaining he can obtain the visa from Immigration using form TM.87

Thanks all for the advises.

Its a litle bit confusing coz you can get your tourist or non b visa in thai embassy philippines for just 3 working days with a little requirements only.

I dont have money to burn by going back in the philippines and be back again in thailand:)

You can convert a visa exempt stamp to a 'real' visa ??

What are the requirements to do that...

The requirement is the same as for change of visa but you use TM.87 form and should be done with 21 days or more remaining on the permitted to stay stamp.

Hi Do you you know any legitimate agent in thailand that can do the job for me? that have enough experience in processing different kinds of visa so that it will not end into a waste of time.

tnx

Believe forum sponsor, Sunbelt Asia, would be a good choice.

i think it would be easier if you can go to a thai consulor embassy and get your non immig b visa over there. :o
