KABUL (Reuters) - The Taliban declared a three-day Eid ceasefire in Afghanistan starting Sunday, via a tweet on Saturday from the hardline Islamist group, and the country's president said the government would reciprocate.

Australia to resume tourism to bushfire-hit Victoria as virus cases stay low

MELBOURNE (Reuters) - Australia set out measures to resume tourism to Victoria's rural regions, ravaged by bushfires and then the coronavirus, after a testing blitz in the country's second-most populous state showed continuing low cases of community transmission.

HONG KONG (Reuters) - Hong Kong braced on Sunday for its first protests since Beijing’s controversial plan to directly impose national security laws on the city, in what could provide a litmus test of public opposition to China's tightening grip over the financial hub.

Thailand reports no new coronavirus cases for fourth time this month

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand on Sunday reported no new coronavirus cases and no new deaths, maintaining the total to 3,040 confirmed cases and 56 fatalities since the outbreak began in January.
