New color for fiberglass pool

Featured Replies

Hi

I have 5m x 10m composite / Fiberglass swimming pool, 3 years old. It lost all lacquer from it. Company whom we buy it was trying some NEW lacquer and told that is better and stronger what was earlier laquers.  They made mistake and the NEW lacquer. After few months lacquer start to peeling off big peaces and slowly all varnishing was away.  That company made lots of pools in southern thailand and after they went bancruptcy and sold a company.  Now i want make a new color and new lacquer for my pool. Any advise of paints and lacquers for that pool ??? Pool is clorine pool.  My idea is first empty the pool, then sand wash all old remains of lacquer away, then wash it, let it dry, 2 layers of paint, 3 layers of lacquer,  Is it correct ?? Hope to get some help from here.   Have a nice week !!!!!!

That is the problem with the shonks here!

I could name most!

The lacquer is called Gelcoat & is a chemical mix!

Depending where the factory gets it (Chems) from is the main issue.

By cheap get cheap. Customer has NO idea!!

Just buy one & get one free! (Ex Car SalesMan whom is on the job)!!

In reality it should last minimum 10 yrs with a bit of fading!

You don't sandwash you actually have to grind or sand it back to sort it out & re-gelcoat!

If you are real and not one of the shonks - PM me!! (I will soon know)! 55555555555

Cheers
