Foreigner extorted and blackmailed for 1.5 million baht by Thai woman

A foreign man paid a Thai woman 1.5 million baht after she convinced him that she had been sold into sex slavery abroad by another foreigner.

She also sent a bogus email claiming that their previous relationship would be revealed to his family and he must pay up.

In reality Phanitnark - described by Manager as a nasty woman - was living it up in Soi Aree, Sukhumvit 26, in Bangkok at a luxury condo.

She was arrested there and admitted everything. Evidence in the form of a phone, electronic cards and a bogus email were gathered by the immigration police.

A vinyl board during the presentation by immigration chief Lt-Gen Sompong Chingduang yesterday also indicated the involvement of the Saensuk (Bang Saen) police in Chonburi.

Phanitnark (surname withheld) had had a sexual relationship with the foreigner whose nationality was not revealed.

She then convinced him over the phone that she had been sold into sex slavery abroad and a ransom must be paid for her release.

Then email threats came that if he didn't pay more their previous affair would be revealed to his family.

The foreigner fell for all this and parted with 1.5 million baht in several installments.

Finally realising he had been conned the foreigner went to the police who discover the woman had been in Thailand all along and was just extorting him.

She has been charged with fraud under false pretenses and extortion.

Never let a woman in a 'casual sex' encounter know your name and address. Hi, I'm John from the UK (Bruce from Australia, Joe from the USA, or Hans from Germany).

And so, police was also involved in the scam ???

Another scandal but it's clear that here, this does not surprise anyone anymore.

Total common sense. I am Manny from Regina, Saskatchewan. And all my stuff is locked up in the safe. And no, you cannot have my phone number or my line info. I have rented you for a couple of hours, then it is bye, bye!

No question that alot of men come here, in an emotionally vulnerable state of mind. I get it. The West is brutal for a man over 50, who is not really wealthy. But, buyer beware. The real question is, what will they do with her? Will she be prosecuted and jailed by a judicial system that is one of the world's weakest, and most lenient? If she has enough cash (who knows how many Johns she has conned), she can simply make a large donation, and make this all go away? She will then be free to ply her trade, unless she is caught again. I think the names of cons should always be published. Even if they are just alleged.

Two simple 'rules':

- Don't give details / information.

- If people ask questions; don't answer the question, just deliberately change the subject.

This is me .......... took Thailand 1 year to teach me better.

But unlike the OP there's nothing I would care about any family/friends/employers knowing.

I'm in Thailand, what do they think I'm doing?

Absolutely right! Many years ago foolish, drunk, old friend of mine went short time with a bar girl & then shared a cab dropping him off first at his family home. One week later she wanted 7000 more or she'd spill the beans. Happened one time only thankfully. 1.5 million. That's inflation. Who would ever pay that amount? Wasn't ME, I have no family!!

There would be a fair few blokes in here who have paid a fair bit more than 1.5 million getting divorced in the West. Thats the real long game pay for play :)

Damn, not even possible to have a bit of sideline fun, without blackmail and drama.

Please open the GO GOs again!!! ????

The budget has been blown on vinyl and pointing sticks if anyone is wondering why food ques are so long ????

My now (thankfully long gone) ex wondered if I was going to sell her as a sex slave when I took her to Bali. Hadn't crossed my mind.

If I'd paid slavers to take her, I would have come out far ahead. Moral: don't let opportunity pass you by

I guess she is single now then - does anyone have her contact details she sounds like a keeper?

There are some really thick people about. Should release the nationality as it doesn't tell the whole story.

It's a bit like the advert'  "I bet you can't resist my pussy"      Another dumb farang!!
