Bring back Camp Coffee ...   I was allowed this as a child when living in England in the 50's.

I lived in a South American country for some years back in the 70's, believe it or not a coffee substitute was available made from soy.

Be careful about possible side effects of chicory, it can cause an allergic response and digestive problems.

Sorry can't help you with somewhere to buy here.

I had GERD's years ago along with Parkinson's, much of the cause for GERD's was due to the plethora of medication I was taking.     My work was very stressful with a lot of travel to other countries and within Thailand, long hours, a number of burnouts etc.

I tried adjusting my meal times where possible ( I am vegan ) and looking at my health generally, it did help.  The final blow to GERD's was when I stopped all the meds.     Never suffered Parkinson's or GERD's since although some high protein foods such as uncooked chick pea powder can cause gas.     I don't drink or smoke.

Any idea what is causing your condition.   Sometimes changing diet ( including times of eating ), reducing stress at work ( if still working ), meal times etc.

No sure if it is the coffee flavour or the kick you are after but Yerba Mate, if available here, is an interesting replacement certainly not coffee flavour though.

I would suggest you look online about side effects of chicory, the link below is useful.    Good luck in finding the cause and of course you alternative to coffee.

are you on any PPI right now ?

did you visit hospitals ?

did they tell you you had too much acid in the stomac?

99 percent has too little stomach acid, the older you get...

I use omeprazole, yes i have been in hospital. I would like to find something to drink in morning healthy and not bad for GERD

I don:t think you:ll find ground chickory root here. You can order it from iHerb but I:m not sure packages are getting through these days with the lack of international flights.

The culprit in coffee in terms of GERD is the caffeine. Hence if what you want is coffee like taste, just switching to decaf coffee should work.

sold in every tops, villa market

it is called: APPLE CIDER VINEGAR ...

most people have low stomach acid, whatever the experts say

I went to 3 experts, was on PPI for 3 months, did gastroscopy, they found....NOTHING

idiopathic =  the damn idiots don't know the cause, so it must be mental

did my own discovery years ago ...  1 tablespoon (begin with 1 teaspoon) in a glass of water, 15-30 min before any meal .... it will juice up your digestion ..

GERD is because of food starting to ferment in your stomach, as you have low (or no on PPI) stomach acid and the food just sits there as you lower stomach sphincter needs ACID to open to the small intestine for further digestion

PPI should never be taken more than 2 weeks, except you have an ulcer !

getting off of PPI, will get a serious REBOUND effect, where your acid producing stomach cells will restart making what it is supposed to make, but now it will be much more for a short while, which will make people so scared in just restarting their PPI meds again

been there, done that, got over with ...

since then, I research any meds side effects after an MD visit before taking anything...

believe it, don't believe it ... gave you the info...
