I was told earlier by the manager at a sports bar that serves food that they have been told that they are only allowed to serve alcohol from 11-2 and 5-11pm........

Haven't seen that restriction listed. didn't expect restaurants to get the same limitations as the 7-11. Probably there will be a lot of bars pretending to be restaurantss and restaurants behaving like bars in the coming days.

I'm not gonna argue with you but you're wrong, there's been live sports on for weeks now.

The OP mentioned the Australian Football League.  This competition restarted on the 10th June.  That's 5 days ago.

You must be talking about the Belarusian Premier League.  It was the only show in town for a while.

Content was not discussed, you said there was no live sport which was wrong.

There's also been several UFC events over the last 3-4 weeks as well.

You are correct, not all sport, globally, has been cancelled.

I am sure Pattaya has a big expat following of horse racing and snooker.  ????

Considering it's amongst the only live sport on right now then i agree with you, it's likely to have a large following, as per the OP.

EPL starts shortly.

With the EPL on, and when bars can finally sell alcohol, we might get an indication of some numbers for sports bars here.  I expect an initial rush of expats, as a celebration, across all styles of bars that open up, but a few weeks later will be an indication of the longer term numbers hospitality establishments will be attracting, until tourism returns.

Royal Ascot this week; I wonder if anyone is showing it. Most races are in allowed drinking time. Not so EPL.

Excellent.

I'd imagine there's quite a few people having a punt online now there's something to bet on.

Racing Post website has Royal Ascot runners, riders, colours, trainers. Starts tomorrow, ends Saturday.

Yes, I see they that competition started a few weeks.

With the majority of western expats here being from Europe, I would say football in the most watched sport in the sports bars here.

Not to mention the Thai's punting on the EPL again.
