Thailand draws up safety guidelines for tourist attractions, beaches

Safe distancing and wearing of masks among new guidelines for Thailand’s tourist spots and beaches

 

Thailand’s health department and public health ministry are recommending curbs on the number of visitors at popular tourist spots to avoid a second wave of Covid-19, as the government mulls the reopening of more attractions and businesses ahead of schedule.

 

Following a two-month closure, Bang Saen Beach in Chonburi province begun welcoming visitors again this week. Department of Health (DOH) director-general, Panpimol Wipulakorn, said that even though restrictions on domestic travel have been eased, travellers should continue to practise safety measures such as social distancing, wearing masks, and regular handwashing.

 

The DOH is collaborating with the relevant agencies to establish health and safety guidelines at tourist attractions and beaches. Tourists numbers will be limited and they will have to maintain a safe distance from each other. As well, water activities will be limited, with fewer allowed on banana boats, speed boats, and rubber hoops.

This is the sad side of Thai men with a say. They will milk every ounce out of a rule just to be noticed, regardless of its worth. Covits could be over for 10 years and Little Uniform Man would still be bangin on about if his kids had not told him its over. They remind me of Captain Mainwwaring in Dads Army.

Speaking from my limited sample from Jomtien beach: It ain't happening and ain't gonna happen. Walked past 100's of people, foreign and domestic other day. 16 were wearing masks actually covering mouth AND nose. No social distancing. The pedicure & massage ladies: no masks. The umbrella vendors: no masks, no hand sanitizer.

Breakdown on temp checking in, wearing mask and sanitizer 7/11 and Family Mart.

Really?? They sure get their priorities right, don't they? They are completely useless regarding all these fatalities on the roads, so why bother with tourist attractions and beaches?

Because ruling Thai's are suffering from a huuuge inferiority complex. They know we feel that they are a joke - and the country is suffering from corruption and lack of intelligent leadership.

 

So this is their way of feeling in charge. By thinking that they are herding us around like sheep, and that they are making us dance like the monkeys in the amusement park.

Why go to a beach in Thailand, for the filthy water and beaches ? You won't find much pristine beaches with clear water in Thailand.

Also the road carnage is much worse so focus on that too.

Quite true.

 

Couple of years ago I went sailing in the Dalmatian Sea (Croatia), and was amazed that the water was more clear than Similian Islands in Thailand.

Prices were much cheaper than Thailand as well.

Flights in and out of Britain are a major factor in the spread of coronavirus, a new report has confirmed.

A study by the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP) named the UK as an example of where a large number of domestic and international flights "facilitated contagion” of Covid-19.

The report said the flow of air passengers across and within country borders has been a major contributor to the spread of the virus.

Serge Stroobants, an IEP director, said: "The countries most impacted are countries that are really participating in global trade in the globalised world and the interconnected world.

"These are countries in which you will find a large airport hub, giving the potential to people to travel from one country to the other.

"That's why, for example, the region of Milan in Italy, Paris, Brussels, Frankfurt, London and New York, those big international hubs created more exchanges and more potential for the virus to grow."
