Don't worry, China is holding back international travel until at least October.

And they haven't yet decided if and when they will allow tour groups to travel abroad.

Thanks.

I actually said in other threads that I thought that might be the case with China!

Actually, looking at reality. China already had it´s peak and have quite good control of the virus and it´s spread by now.

it spread all over the world, but in China, where people also travel for business & pleasure, not one big major city was hit...mhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Very concerning when you live in a condo where chinese owners illegally rent out there multiple units short term . Will this same government advice be given to hotels be also given to condos. With short term renters already resuming the practice of sneaking holiday makers into condo buildings now. What hope do residents have when the Chinese return to safeguard against the spread of sars2 to ensure health and well being.  Time to resolve this issue and aid actual hotels who need the business..pay tax. ..and have the staff to ensure law and directive are adhered.

I was certainly never a fan of all the Chinese (Mainland) tourists but there are interesting numbers.  Thailand had huge numbers of Chinese coming to the country.  Philippines was the same except it also had huge numbers of Koreans.  Both countries had low numbers of virus deaths.  The US banned flights from China but the virus came in from Europe and the US has huge numbers.

It just shows that picking and choosing who gets in and who doesn't may not be straight forward.

Or that picking and choosing the number of infections reported is an art.

Hopefully they are the first to be let back in, And soon.

I miss the traffic congestion and havoc the tour coaches create on the roads in Pattaya !!

Move to Jomtien. There were imo no problem with the buses here.

Move to Isaarn, no Chinese here.........YET!

Only the immigrants from last century with Thai passport.

Without them not much would work here.

But yes, I always shiver when TAT writes about promoting tourism to Isan.

Hell no!!!

This would be a good time for concerned condo owners in projects plagued with daily renters to get together and demand from their condo boards strong action to curb the daily renters for their safety.  I was talking to a friend in Bangkok and his condo just put in face scanners as a security upgrade.  All the owners and long-term renters were registered into the system and he no longer has to carry a keycard.  There is new technology that could help curb this illegal activity.  With the virus still not under control in many countries and likely with us for some time to come,  it's more important then ever to limit the number of undocumented tourists using condo residences as illegal hotels.
