BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand on Friday confirmed four new coronavirus cases, all of which were imported from abroad, marking 32 days without community transmission.

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand recorded no foreign tourists for a second month in May as borders remained closed to control the coronavirus spread, with the 6.69 million visitors from January to May a slump of 60% from a year earlier, the tourism ministry said on Friday.

Thailand’s Supreme Court has dismissed the pleas for leniency by five former and active core members of the red-shirt movement. The court upheld the two year and eight month sentence, issued by the Appeals Court, for their leading roles in the violent siege of the residence of the late Privy Council President Prem Tinsulanonda in 2007.

More easing of lockdown to be announced on Monday

Film crew on weeklong projects may be allowed in after 5th phase of easing

In response to a question raised during the daily Covid-19 conference on Friday (June 26), Dr Taweesin Visanuyothin, spokesman for the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) said foreign film crews may be allowed to enter Thailand for short periods. However, he said, permission for film crew wanting to work here for more than a month is still under discussion.
