Campbell Scott has joined the cast of Jurassic World 3: Dominion as a key character from the original movie.

Scott will play Lewis Dodgson, the mysterious man in Jurassic Park who gives Dennis Nedry the fake can of Barbasol to store the stolen dinosaur embryos, Collider reports.

The stranger in a red shirt left us with countless questions all those years ago, and it’s looking like we finally might get some answers.

In the upcoming Jurassic World: Dominion, Lewis Dodgson is the CEO of Biosyn Genetics – and if that doesn’t sound like an evil corporation, what does?

When they said an "original" Jurassic Park character was being brought back but recast, I thought they may have meant Samuel Jackson or Wayne Knight (Nedry) or maybe Ariana Richards. Not some guy who had a forgettable 2 minute cameo.

Jackson and Knight both died so they could come back as different characters ("brothers" of the previous characters perhaps).
Ariana had a cameo in the second movie but would be all grown up now (and obviously related to John Hammond so there's a tie-in).

As for the next Jurassic movie.
Let me guess, it will also feature super intelligent velociraptors that have advanced language skills and can outsmart modern technology, as well as an appearance by a T-Rex who will pose, roar and save the day (again) while defeating a much larger and meaner adversary.

Oh wait. Jurassic World was basically a remake of Jurassic Park (benevolent benefactor creates dinosaur theme park where super dangerous dinosaurs break out and ravage the place.)
And Jurassic World 2 (Fallen Kingdom) was literally a remake of Jurassic Park 2 (with better casting), in which some of the characters from the first movie show up in the second to "rescue" the dinosaurs who were let loose in the first movie, right down to dinosaurs being taken to American and getting loose.
They even brought Goldblum back for a cameo (but were smart enough to not give him a leading role).

Then Jurassic Park III brought back some characters from the 1st movie (Neil and Dern) but not the second one, to revisit the same island that was left in ruins after the first movie.

Jurassic World 3 (Dominion) will feature a couple characters that appeared in the first one (Howard, Pratt and Jake Johnson - the guy wearing the Jurassic Park t-shirt who stayed behind when everyone else left - and was totally forgotten in the 2nd movie).

Howard and Pratt seem to the be the only 2 from the 2nd Jurassic World movie to be in the 3rd one though.
As well, it turns out that Laura Dern and Sam Neil from Jurassic Park 1 and 3 will be back as well as, sigh, Jeff Goldblum again. BD Wong will play the evil Dr Henry Wu again.

It seems the 3rd movie will also "break the mold" in that it apparently takes place in the USA (at least for the most part).

Spoiler Alert !

The only spoilers I can see is some pics where they appear to be filming in a winter location (maybe somewhere like the Badlands of South Dakota ?)

Also, the person who directed the short film Battle at Big Rock, which featured a family on vacation in a National Park getting in the middle of a fight between a triceratops and an t-rex, is the same person directing Jurassic World 3.

I'm counting on an avalanche of answers all at once!
