Gun Battle on Thepprasit Road

Even though there was lots and lots of fun going on around Pattaya on the 19th April it didn’t mean that the police and rescuers could stop working.

There were continuous reports from morning till dusk about beatings, knifings, and even a gun battle – like this case here.

At 2.00 pm the Dongtan police were informed that a shooting occurred in front of Thai Thong Elephant Camp, on Thepprasit Road.

Witnesses stated that there were all together 6 men in the attackers’ group and they saw two guns being used. The witnesses gave the gang’s motorbikes information to the police which really helped because four attackers, aged 16 – 27, were arrested within 10 minutes. The police found that one of the men was injured in the foot.

His name is Shane and he told the police that he got shot in the foot when he tried to pull the gun away from his friend as he wanted to shoot staff at the elephant camp. All four stated that the guns belong to the two men that got away named Boat and Opp. None of these men knows why their friend wanted to shoot the staff of the elephant camp.

The police then received further information from this group, which will possibly lead to an arrest of the other two men that managed to escape. However, these 4 men were charged with possessing a gun and using it in public”, and will face some serious issues as a consequence.
