Anyway it's not the UK problem any more, we're long gone. Do whatever you like. If you want to sleepwalk into a federal superstate that's your problem. Fill yer boots. No need to try to convince us any more.

Where is your evidence for an EU army?

There is none.

Just more conspiracy theory nonsense.

I'm trying to remember - did the Brexit referendum say ''do you want to leave the EU without any deal'' (or to put it in realistic terms - ''without any idea of where we're going to?'') Because you ar

Those vetos are disappearing rapidly. The EU commissioners are targeting the Irish, Belgian, Luxembourg and Dutch harboured multinationals taxes now. They will invoke Article 116 of their treaty, which will only need a qualified majority.

So where will those multinats move their registered addresses for tax purposes? To Singapore on Thames of course, which we will be able to do, without their restrictions or accursed 'level playing field'. That's what the EU is so scared of and what they doublespeak about taxation - nothing to do with the leftist fallacy about rich people's offshore investments.

Delusional.

There will be no Singapore on Thames because Singapore on Thames will have no access to the EU.

No multinational company is going to move its headquarters to a place with a tiny domestic market.

If they want to do that they can already move to ...... guess where?........Singapore. Just like that ardent Brexiteer Dyson did.

No evidence then just conspiracy theories again.

'Singapore on Thames'..  If only!  LOL! Last time I was over that way it was more like 'Karachi-on-Thames'...

Multinationals that want to operate in the EU will locate their EU HQ and operations in a member country. Hence many corporations relocating offices out of UK into Amsterdam, Berlin, Paris etc.

To remain competitive after Brexit the UK will allow GBP to fall in a 'competitive devaluation' - its just about the only lever the government have left.

Thankfully HM Forces are looking elsewhere these days:

Quote

The agreement is a sign of intent to formalise a number of ongoing initiatives between the two Armies, boosting opportunities to co-operate effectively as modern warfare continues to evolve.

Key cutting-edge capabilities have been identified for closer collaboration to help narrow the gaps between UK and US forces so we can operate seamlessly together in future battlespaces.

This will involve developing innovative solutions together to tackle shared threats and operational challenges that affect both nations and help protect and defend peace and security across the globe....

Nonsense. Every country (and a few regions) all retain their veto.

Why are you saying they do not?

Please point out where in the Lisbon Treaty that veto was removed.

Start reading. Take your time.

Nothing to do with the topic whatsoever. Why not start a new thread, or wait for it to come up, which given the recent news I expect it will.

well, soon at least, UK is still being affected (in the legal sense) by EU decision making,

but it will end soon, in all likelihood

having all that crp behind you, time to look ahead, trade, trade deals, making UK attractive for FDI, foreign relations . . .

wasting energy on fake news re EU is just that, waste

and shows off the not so pallatable properties of UK and the British

Ya think? Maybe that's why they don't like to talk about it? If you read the Lisbon Treaty then you might see what I mean.

By the way, Project Fear belonged to the remainers, the large remain element of the UK Parliament of the day and, of course, the EU itself.

some like to talk about it, eg nutcases like Verhofstadt, some don't and some are against

anyway,

am fairly familiar with Lisbon, (and Maastricht),

what I see in the marketing sections with the big words (ie the preamble/lead in)

is a clear recognition of MS role and MS competency

The direction of travel has been decided by member States, you know, when they unanimously signed a treaty.

Gove must have been joking or have taken some Bolivian marching powder when he said 'With control of our economy, we can continue to put in place the right measures for Covid recovery'....                         (i) you did have control of your economy.                                                                                           (ii) the two matters are not truly related. During the first half of 2020, the Tories screwed up the Covid response so badly.

For our country it does not matter we move out , we keep entitled on health care but only when we are back in home country , even if by example for a short holliday visit ,like i take then advatage to make a medicall checkup. But my home country medical government healt service does not count in Thailand, for that i have private insurrance .

Our system is so regulated ,same no freezing pension we get same as in home country , when pension as a single ...in case i example should married i would receive 25% more as married person ...

But that would not bring profit as wife would cost even more ????????????????

We have a very good social security ,the Scandinavians have even more better

O.K. Hope you understand now ,different country.'s different rules

I Like my nanny state country for that..????

The current bunch of headless chickens leading the UK make Teresa May look like a statesman (statesperson). Even after 4 years the Leave crew (Johnson, Gove, Patel, Raab et al) have no idea of what they are doing. The recent statements by Gove and letter by Liz Truss just highlight what a bunch of donkeys are leading the country.

Having confirmed that there will be no extension to the transition period at the begining of July this weekend Gove wanted to the country to celebrate the fact we will have border checks in place 6 months after the transition period ends !! Meanwhile the French have extended the Calais Facility, introduced systems and even tested them. How is UK business to cope with this farce ?

I still fail to understand

-how the Leave crew have moved from Lets take control of our borders, to we do not need borders, to only the EU will establish border controls, to we might need some controls, to we are building checkpoints which will be ready middle of next year (if we have an IT system that works)

-What happened to the Oven Read Deal ?

-What an Australian Deal is when Australia does not have a deal (only some agreements)

-Where are all the countries that were lining up to make free trade agreements with us ???

These are just a few of the questions I have. Given the UK Governments have no idea of what they are doing it would be interesting to hear the thoughts from someone who voted for Brexit

You are new to the thread then....?

I suggest you start at page one and all will be revealed...????

Australia trades with the EU on WTO terms.

Johnson thinks that we are all morons.

He likes to say "Australian type deal" because it sounds better than "No deal" which is what we are going to get.

Brexiteers demand total separation from the EU but also want special access to the EU market without having to comply with the EU's rules.

The EU is having none of that.

Brexiteers blame everyone and everything else for this failure.

There I have summed up the 97 pages for you.

What failure, we haven't finished yet. Now stop champing at the bit, you may damage your gums chap....????

It shows that a democratic referendum was acted upon although so many entities have tried to stop that process and are still trying.

As for other positives these are numerous but most remainers don't want to see any positives and are happy to be the EU's lapdog.

It is so weird - the uk had (and did execise) the voting power to instigate changes, within the EU. That is democracy (you know - the one you are always babbling on about the 52/48 Brexit vote being 'democratic'.) Now that you are leaving, all you can do is criticize their democratic structure. As has been pointed out, ad nauseum, any one member country has the right to veto. But that wasn't good enough for you, you had to go <deleted> it up. JHC, you'd think you were a bunch of children.
