WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said on Wednesday the new security law China has imposed on Hong Kong was an affront to all nations and Washington would continue to implement President Donald Trump's directive to end the territory's special status.

Thailand reports no new domestic COVID-19 cases for 39 consecutive days

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Authorities in Thailand on Friday reported one new coronavirus infection in a quarantined Thai national returning from the Middle East, stretching to 39 days its record of no local transmissions.

PHUKET: Phuket Provincial Police have announced today that the alcohol ban for the major Buddhist religious holidays Asarnha Bucha and Khao Phansa will be in effect this Sunday and Monday (July 5-6).

Drunk soldier shoots policeman as he tries to pull him out of flipped car

A police officer was shot three times in the chest and twice in the arm as he tried to pull an inebriated soldier out of a flipped over car in Chonburi’s Sattahip on Friday (July 3). The drunk soldier also fired at and injured a bystander.

(Reuters) - The death toll in a landslide at a jade mine in northern Myanmar has risen above 160, with more feared dead, authorities said on Friday, as search efforts continued for a second day.
