Chonburi Immigration
I will be going back on Thursday at about 15.15 I have never been to Immigration in the morning (apart from when my wife had to do my TM30). Mind you I can't understand why I need a Re-entry permit anyway. I have a valid visa so I just think it's just another way to make money, and don't get me started on 90 day. After 18 years and 72 forms at the same address it just seems a waste of paper. -

Best UK Bank whilst living in Thailand
Nationwide send replacement cards to Thailand. I had not realised that mine was expiring and they automatically replaced mine to my Thailand address without me asking. Also, they sent me a new card reader not long ago at my request. Download the NBS app in the UK. -

Any restaurants serving brown rice?
Not a resto but some larger 7-11,s have above the salad section on the top shelf along with jasmine, brown and rice berry. 15 baht for a small tub. Most would probably need a couple of them. -

Tourism Minister Aims to Levy 300-Baht Fee for Visitors
I fly in from China. Typical $250-350 R/T. I don't know what a business ticket from Europe costs, but I imagine it's around $5K R/T. Post Covid, the airfares from China are half what they were. The downside is limited flight selection and no non-stops from my town. I've slept in a few airports when there was no transit hotel. -

Swift endorsement turns more voters from harris than it attracts…
No the experts are commenting on her rigidly upright position, which is part of her position overhaul, so clearly that's an ongoing problem. Since it's a spinal issue it'll be a life long problem and will only get worse with age. -

Today I met the first farang returning home because of exchange rate
There is brit Bill around Ratchada area begging for change to buy food (and I guess booze). Active in evening around Soi 4 - bars and discos. I saw him from the distance - he looks like an average farang teacher, but seems that something is wrong with him. I think people who can't fix themselves in TH should find their way back home asap. This country is not very cozy for bums. -

Tourism Minister Aims to Levy 300-Baht Fee for Visitors
I think that it was just last week that there was a report here that the tourism tax had already been implemented! I said at the time that I thought it had been shelved. -

Digital Wallet Registration Results for Smartphone Users Indefinitely Delayed
Like many programs here it will be delayed and postponed and over time some other scheme will be presented to replace it, while those funds slowly evaporate into someone's pocket. Thais won't like it but they won't say or do anything to stop it as its business as usual. -

Today I met the first farang returning home because of exchange rate
"Friends"??!! Hahahahaha Seriously, you need to get some kind of life away from posting your butthurt on this forum. I think people already know what I think about finance/economic/trading etc I think quite a few would share my view on people moving here without first making allowances for fluctuations in exchange rates, especially if they've retired. -

What is the best way to watch old movies at home in Thailand?
Stremio is a useful app, great to search for movies and series, new and old, even the ones on current Netflix , apple+, HBO...,. It shows the torrents, easy to browse and is free. But, you need to connect a torrent downloader though. Found all the old movies there and more...check it out. -

Commerce minister plea: Time to cut the baht and boost the rates
The challenge that Thais face is the same in most countries where credit cards are the main means of payment. The problem will not be solved with lower interest rates. The problem can only be solved if Thais try to live a sustainable living as outlined by the past king. Most second hand cars are because people could not afford them. Look also at the housing market. If not for foreign buyers the condo market would be dead.
