Seven returnees test positive to Covid-19

There are seven confirmed Covid-19 cases in state quarantine without any deaths over a 24-hour period, the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported on Tuesday (July 14), the 50th day without a domestic case since May.

Pheu Thai chief strategist demands answers about lax control over Egyptian military mission

The opposition Pheu Thai Party’s chief strategist, Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan, has accused the Government of lowering its guard when it allowed an Egyptian military mission to enter and stay in Thailand without being monitored or quarantined. A member of the mission was later found to be infected with COVID-19, after the group had already left the country.

French envoy commends Thailand for curbing virus in Bastille Day message

In a recorded message released to mark Bastille Day on Tuesday (July 14), French Ambassador to Thailand Jacques Lapouge said national day celebrations this year had to be cancelled due to the Covid-19 situation, even though the annual parade is still being held in France.

CCSA spokesman apologises over case of infected Egyptian soldier, reports full timeline

Rayong hotel shuts doors for 14 days after Egyptian guest tests positive

D Varee Diva Central Rayong Hotel on Tuesday (July 14) announced on its Facebook page (@DVareeRayong) that it will employ three measures in response to the incident where a 43-year-old Egyptian soldier tested positive for Covid-19 after he and 30 other Egyptian soldiers and military staff stayed at the hotel from July 8 to 11.
