Where there are no true standards, there cannot be any double standards.

Kissana also dismissed comments such as “jails are only for the poor”.

Kissarse... But a very apt sentiment in my opinion...

What I have missed in all of the articles was any statement as to why the charges were dropped.

"There's no double standard, we handle all billionaire cop killers exactly the same way"

Money talks and ‘Red Bull’ <deleted> walks....

Shameful. Shameful all around.  And, especially shameful the Police Committee raising no objections.  One of their own is killed and they're ok with no punishment?  Shameful.

Unfortunately SHAME is not in the vocabulary of the rich!

Money talks in Thailand.

Deputy National Police spokesman, Pol Colonel Kissana Phathanacharoen, insisted on Friday (July 24) that there were no double standards in the case of Red Bull heir Vorayuth “Boss” Yoovidhya.

His remarks came after the Office of the Attorney-General decided to drop all charges against Vorayuth in a 2012 hit-and-run case.

How nice to be super rich in Thailand.... you can buy your way out of everything.

As it does in many other countries, not sure why Thailand is being singled out.

This stinks of typical Thai corruption. What can you say about a country where Justice is a game?

yes red bull "BOSS" to run for prim minister, give him a fair go as the police have chased him for nothing hell dragging a cop under a car no worse than dragging a dog but the pain is the same

I am a retired policeman and any policeman or department in the police that lets a cop killer go free and unpunished is no better than the cop killer himself. When I was a policeman all the money in the world could not keep us from bringing the cop killer to justice. I HAVE NO RESPECT FOR ANY THAI POLICE THAT DOES NOT STAND UP AND FIGHT THIS DESION TO LET THE NO GOOD COP KILLER GO FREE.  The grandfather should slow be put in jail for harboring a cop killer.

PLEASE EVERYONE NEVER BUY RED BULL

He's a squillionare playboy without a care in the world so why on earth would he want to bother himself with trivial matters like becoming the Thai PM ?

Not happen.Because they would have to give him  money back.

Yes and maybe he or his sister would become PM's again ????

Now the AG can retire in style with the money he got for dropping this case. The no good AG is no better or worse than the cop killer himself.   NEVER PLEASE NEVER BUY REDBUFF  if you do you are supporting a cop killer.

If I were Vorayuth I now would file law suits against the RTP, the Office of the Attorney General, and the Prime Minister's Office, demanding billions in damages.

After all, as it turns out, I had been wrongfully accused from the start, was treated as an outcast shunned and reviled by society as a result, and had to suffer years of hardship removed from my home country in order to escape flimsy charges that apparently were not supported by any evidence to begin with.

Also got to recover a good portion of the money that my family has so generously put into numerous brown envelopes on my behalf to secure the outcome.

The RTP are not police. They’re middle men who negotiate on the behalf of 2 parties and take a cut. When dealing with wealthy people, they’ll always look to broker some kind of financial deal and avoid pressing charges. They’re not in the business of seeking justice. They’re in the business of making money.

"The Image of Thailand"..............WHAT IMAGE?

Thailand's image is of ladyboys and prostitutes, corruption, numerous military coups and a place where democratically elected governments are overthrown by military force, where opposition political party leaders are threatened with jail and their party banned from politics for the flimsiest of reasons, a place where any criticism of certain people can land you in jail for a decade or more, of a land where money and influence places you above the law, a place where VIPS are never ever jailed for any crime including plotting to murder, of a land with some of the lowest education standards in all of Asia, of a land with the most dangerous roads in the world.

So there's no evidence that this decent young bloke did anything wrong, well evidence that someone is willing to pursue. He'll be allowed to come home and it'll all be forgotten. Great, everyone will be pleased.

Just another villain allowed to walk free and become more arrogant about the justice system than he was before.

if you can go to hell for lying then the AG will burn in hell forever because he lied and he got paid millions to drop this case the no good AG is no better than the cop killer himself and both should go to prison forever.

 NEVER BUY REDBULL

The law, like a fisherman's net, is made to catch small fish: the big ones either avoid it or break it.

Kissana said related officials have handled the case in the line with the law and there were no double standards.

Really? A bootleg DVD peddler bears the full brunt of the law, while the hiso inbred elites continue to get away with doing as they wish without repercussions?

He added that if the police were to disagree with the attorney-general’s decision then it will have to be based on evidence, not social trends.

Show it, then. Weren't there CCTV footage et cetera? You guys were so cocksure you had an airtight case. What happened now? One of your own was killed and you can't even defend and fight for that?  What a bunch of limpd|icks.

Thailand, your double-standards is so blatant, it is an insult to general intelligence, even to the stupid.

The Attorney General apparently claimed he had no knowledge of this and was waiting to read details of the case.
