SoilSpoil
I have a burning question. I live here on yearly Non O extensions (family) and it's almost time to apply for my next extension. I've recently started working at a school, but it might take 1 to 2 months before the work permit will be issued (thanks to TCT). A group of immigration officers will visit us in the week after filing the application, as they do every year. This means that they will, most likely, find out that I have started working and am still without work permit. Will immigration give me a headache, or will they understand that the work permit process takes some time? Would it be necessary to ask my employer to issue a letter explaining that they are 'in process' of getting my work permit? Has anyone here been in this situation? ubonjoe
If you are applying for an extension of stay based upon marriage you do not need to show your work permit unless you are using you income form working to meet the 40k baht income requirement when you apply. I cannot understand why it would take 2 months to get your work permit.
FritsSikkink
The work permit shouldn't take that long, the school is to blame for not getting the paperwork sorted quick enough.
