Black lives matter made me do it!

About 100 people gathered outside the Central District station on Monday evening in a demonstration organized by Black Lives Matter Chicago. Several protesters held a banner that read, “Our futures have been looted from us ... loot back.”

He offered to send troops to Chicago.

Lori Lightfoot refused. Like Portland's civic leaders. Like Washington's mayor who refused him the use of police.

They would rather let lootings continue than see Donald Trump get credit for dealing with the lootings.

Ah, that's why 100 arrests were made, thanks for the explanation.

Frightening

A perfect statement from those who deserve to get what's given to them through prosecution.  "Ask not what your country can do for thee, for just take from them that have and that what you covet"  Seems to me that someone should start building an Ark again......

Under no circumstances will I allow Donald Trump’s troops to come to Chicago and terrorize our residents.

A flash mob doesn’t appear by mere chance, it needs organization and coordination.

Those who have been arrested will have information on how they came to be at the incident.

And the arresting authorities will still be unable to offer any evidence that they are members of any centrally organized Antifa.

Wise decision. Troops just aggravate the situation. Only localized criminality around Lincoln Park. Mayor Lori Lightfoot has already declared lockdown for foreseen days and deployed heavy police presence in downtown Chicago until further notice. Right to ignore Trump's political posturing to cast blame on the Dem mayor.

What would happen if the protestors ignore the lockdown and continue going on the rampage and the Police powerless to stop them ?

Isn't it a bit stranger that all of a sudden we have whole city police forces that appear to have been rendered "powerless"?

The Chicago police has been very effective to stop crime in the past. Not even in the top 10 most crime cities. Try Anchorage if you refer to high crime rates.

We are talking about the present day though, rather than what happened in the past .

The protestors are having live gun fights with the police .

The police are there to uphold law and order , when it comes to gun fights, thats the armys job

And these are the same people that the pathetic footballers and race drivers kneel for. Want equal rights and act like animals. Still should be easy to find, just look for any black that's drunk, smells good and is dressed like a catwalk

Quite often they try to justify their illegal actions by portraying themselves as the victims of some injustice

They are not protestors, they are looters.

I know Trump fans are desperate to lump everyone into the same boat but as has been documented many, many times, the protest are overwhelmingly peaceful and are hijacked (mainly at night) but lawless looters. Both the Chicago mayor and the Chicago police understand this and unlike Trump fans, are able to distinguish between the two.

How hard can it be to realise we are talking about two very different and seperate things? For gods sake, the social media call that went out specifically said 'lets go looting' not 'lets go protesting and then maybe a bit of looting afterwards'.

Law & Order is still rightfully left to each State & yes certain States are breaking down as you can see

Which States should also be noted & what type of State Government is in control

Welcome magnificent mile entrepreneurs,  your insurance policies are under assault, imop! What of the surrounding businesses nearby ,the ones who were lucky enough not to be looted! Whats the lasting long term effect on your business forecast!

"Businesses that are forced to suspend operations or limit hours due to rioting may have coverage for the loss of income under business income insurance—also known as business interruption insurance. However, this is only triggered if there is direct physical damage to the premises".

https://www.iii.org/article/civil-disorders-and-insurance

Business won't be the same and tax revenue for these dem run cities won't be either!

Staying in business and people feeling safe,  has developed a new meaning in the last 3 months of rioting  in dem controlled areas!

Have some of the protests turned violet ?

Its highly likely that many of the looters were involved in the protests

Were the looters inspired by the violent protests ?

I would say that the protests and looting are entwinned

It wan't looting! I was simply a peaceful protest (with benefits) and the cops started shooting for no reason. ????

Lightfoot simply needs to step down as mayor as does De Blasio, as well as the mayor of Minneapolis whose name escapes me now.

LOL.  What a disingenuous statement.  Why don't you just speak the truth and lay blame where it truly belongs . . . law and order is breaking down under another failed Democratic mayor.  You libs are a riot the way you twist things.

Interesting how Trump supporters express concern and care over accountability, responsibility and the buck stops here stuff - other than when associated with Trump.

Some of the looters had "live gun fights" with the police. Lumping various groups together seems to be a thing on these topics. And no, it's not the army's job do deal with "gun fights" - not even on the scale that took place. Armies are for war.

They were powerless to stop them last night .

They have also began firing guns at the police , is this normal or have the riots intensified from just civil disobedience to a civil war ?

Army is trained to fight wars not against civilians. That’s the police job. Why so hard to understand.

It is highly unlikely you've either failed to read the OP, pay attention to current events or trying to muddy the waters. Wouldn't know how you've reached the "highly likely" assessment or what it even supposed to mean. There are different groups involved, and connection between them are not necessarily as clear cut as some apparently imagine.

There is only so long the black community can pretend they don't know that the person doing this shares their house. You are only as good as the company you keep. I can imagine a family sitting around watching their new 70" screen and suddenly on the news there is a boy that likes just like junior, wearing his gang colors, with a mask, carrying away a 70" flatscreen TV.

Wonder who that could be? Remember ghettos aren't big places and people know what's up. People should be charged for aiding and abetting.  There needs to be criminal actions against people that harbor fugitives.

Your post seems to be written under the assumption blacks are the only race to have ever looted something.

The Black lives matter group organised the previous peaceful and not so peaceful protests and also last nights looting .

Its the same group , BLM, , or are you suggesting that the BLM looters last night have all been sat at home and not participating in other BLM protests/riots and they suddenly decided to get involved ?
