Infant’s devoted 10-year-old sister faces daily struggles

Ban Huay Mai Sod School in Bueng Kan province is seeking donations for a 10-year-old student who has to bring her infant sister to class because their parents are not around to take care of them.

The student told her teachers that their father was in prison, while their mother – an illegal migrant – had to return home shortly after delivering the baby.

The children live with their grandmother and other relatives give them Bt20 a day to live on. The youngster said no relatives were available to look after the baby because they were poor and had to work.

She said she had no choice but to bring the baby to school with her, but is unable to concentrate on lessons because the infant needs looking after.

The school has already provided funds to rebuild the grandmother’s home, which is close to collapsing.

I think that most of us would.

In genuine cases such as these, the donation accounts are usually kosher. It is probably a school account as they are already helping the family. Probably on a Facebook page.

In this day and age, this is absolutely shocking! The cards are stacked against these kids from day one.

Money for Rolexes, submarines, toys for the army, smart BMWs for coppers, etc., but no social network in place to catch those who truely need taking care of. Shocking!

No disrespect to previous posters, but although I'd like to help, the school director is the last person I'd donate my money to (with father, grandmother and relatives in following closely behind). The 10 year old seems to be more responsible/reliable than all the rest put together.

Let's try to see the positives.  The students are setting a good example to the child and she'll be learning too and the older girl is a good sister.

It's not ideal but hopefully something good pans out for them soon.

Yes, djayz.  I'd rather make a donation directly to the responsible sister than the rest of them.

this is thailand

no empathy

I got no empathy either at immigration, that told me to go back to my country

and my child would be left alone, with no-one to take care

as the "mother" / ex-wife is f. ing around and having fun

but also does not let me go back with the child to our home country either

And the local authorities what there are are apart from the school doing nothing it seems as usual. NO assistance provided by any GOVERNMENTAL institution , typical , your poor,  ZERO help

People have to struggle like this because that's how the elites want it to be, theres more than enough money, food and water in this world for everyone but they're more than happy to watch people struggle and even die.

Will someone familiar with this family please provide the family's address and name. Or, if possible, would some responsible adult please open a bank account for the girl and provide information privately to us (wife and I) so we can contribute small sums to help them out.  Thank you.  reply to me by [email protected]   Thank you.

So what is the local welfare system doing, sitting on their funds?

At least the infant will be getting a good education, rather than sitting at home doing nothing like most infants do ????

Contact information has been removed.   Please contact [email protected] Before posting information soliciting financial assistance.

Hope it's alright to post this.
There's an announcement posted on the school's Facebook page dated yesterday which states the school hasn't yet opened a bank account for her. They're currecntly coordinating with regional education authorites in Beung Kan in how to best provide assistance.
