Hi guys,

So after having a long thought on what I wanted to do with myself, I have decided to take the ED Visa option, I have found a decent school that that will be able to give me 9 months Education + Ed Visa. I was just curious about the prices as they seem a little steap;

32,000 Baht for 200 Hours of lessons - This is fine for me.

3,000 Baht for the 3 month extensions - I was under the impression this was 1,900?

23,000 Baht just to get the stamp as I am still in the country - Is this not extremely high for what it is?

I came here with the plan of traveling SEA until after christmas then starting an Thai Language course for around 1-2 years anyways so this all ordeal has forced me into starting earlier. I just want to make sure that these charges are the norm in these circumstances or would it be worth looking else where?

I am located in Surat Thani, but i am willing to travel to Koh Samui, or Koh Phangan.

Thank you.

It does seem quite high, perhaps a quick trip to the embassy in Phnom Penh will save you a few Baht?

It's 2-3 times of what schools in other provinces charge, i don't know what is common in Surat Thani.

The 23,000 to get the visa in country is quite high.  I have seen this averaging around 15,000.  But prices are going up everywhere now that we are near the deadline for application.  Everything else is reasonable.  Many schools add on some document preparation fees to the extensions.  3000 total is reasonable for the extensions.

the lowest charges so far I have seen is

for 8 month = 19,100 ( tution,dhl,document) + 10,300 ( visa ,embassy fees) = 29,400 THB  .

I am in the process of  filing   but i am outside thailand . if anyone know if they allow people to come with ED Visa ?

Where is this?

I also forgot to mention that I will be able to take the classes online which is extremely convient for me, as I don't want to actually move to Koh Samui from Surat Thani.

No, Definitely not if you are just thinking of attending a language school.  Only if you attend full time at a university.

Even if it was allowed, the cost of your quarantine and covid insurance alone would be several times the 29000 you mentioned.
