Drawing criticism, Trump says he will accept Republican nomination 'live from the White House'

"Drawing criticism . . . "  When does Trump not draw criticism?  Perhaps the only time was when he authorized the bombing of Syria in retaliation for a supposed Syrian chemical attack.

Really, does his decision to accept the nomination from the White House need to become another national scandal?  How petty.

Grabbing at straws already?

No, not "almost everybody is tweeting since he started", but don't let facts get in the way. Spin it however you like, the White House belongs to the People, not the temporary occupant supposedly serving them.

yes they are ! Stop twisting my words around! He works and lives there ! I never said  anything about who the white house belongs to, you did

"The White House is the official residence and workplace of the president of the United States. It is located at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW in Washington, D.C., and has been the residence of every U.S. president since John Adams in 1800".

Are you tweeting Riclag or are you just obediently following your master voice?

Also, he might (sometimes) work there; he lives on the golf course though.

Good for him

The law doesn't apply to the President and Vice-President.

Yes I know that! I just didn't understand what "he" was referring to!

"Except for the President and Vice President, all federal civilian executive branch employees are covered by the Hatch Act, including employees of the U.S. Postal Service. Even part-time employees are covered by the Act, and all employees continue to be covered while on annual leave, sick leave, leave without pay, or furlough. However, employees who work on an occasional or irregular basis, or who are special government employees, as defined in title 18 U.S.C. § 202(a), are subject to the restrictions only when they are engaged in government business. Federal employees fall within two categories under the Hatch Act, Further Restricted and Less Restricted".

Yes, the makers never imagined the president and VP would sink so low.

The coronavirus pandemic has forced both political parties to overhaul their national conventions. Rather than an in-person gathering planned for Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Democrats this week have scheduled four nights of virtual speeches and events.

US Democracy is now officially deceased.  Cause of death on the national toe-tag: Covid-19.  Actual cause of death: suicide.
The US should simply scuttle the jokes that are the presidential conventions (and debates and elections) and steam full-speed ahead into a technocratic dictatorship.  Really.  The American public feels safer when things are run by a single governor or mayor.  And if the US could just embrace a dictatorial president?  Utopia!  Why not?  Then instead of having to campaign for the next election two years into office the American dictatorial class could concentrate on business.  Like keeping the public safe by forcing mask wearing permanently and locking the public up on a regular basis so the plebs know that their dictatorial class mean business.  And then everyone will be 'safe', even those who don't want to be safe.  But those outliers will come around with proper re-education.
Yep - Utopia!

No no no.  The White House belongs to the highest bidders.  In this case the corporations and oligarchs who have the deepest pockets. (Citizen's United - corporations are people and have a right to as much "Freedom of Speech" as money can buy!)
Trump was an anomaly and somehow squeaked past the financial guardians at the gates who started celebrating too early in 2016.  Hubris.  Lesson learned.  It will not be allowed to happen again.
Kamala Harris For President!!!
"No no no....Biden For President."
Same, same - not different.

A post making a reference to TDS has been removed.   Use of the term is trolling and inflammatory and can earn a suspension.   Keep it civil.

Ok enough of your “they’re all the same the cabal rules and not matter what you vote it’s always the same” nonsense.
The reality is a Dem government has brought more prosperity, more inclusion , more social equality than ANY Gop government has ever done in the last 20 years.
Whenever the GOP has got in, they’ve sacked the nation and sown division, it’s always been up to the Dems to clear up their mess. They’re not the same and if you think so you’re as much as part of the problem as they are.

Different sides of the same coin mate.  Well, unless you have drank the Kool-aide offered by either the right or left sides of the aisles.  You personally like Blue Kook-aide?  That's Ok.  I understand.  But - different color, different flavor - same unhealthy stuff.
However.  It doesn't matter whose in office, Dem or Republican, the economic divide between the obscenely wealthy and everyone else gets wider and wider.  That's just a fact JohnneyB.
The middle class will continue it's decline.  The majority of the wealth will be diverted to those with the most money.  Table scraps will be tossed to the public reminiscent of Charles Laughton in The Private Lives of Henry The VIII banquet scene throwing food to the dogs.
If you drink Red Kool-aide and your leaders throw you crumbs - they're saints - and the other side works for Satan.
If you drink Blue Kool-aide and your leaders throw you crumbs - they're gods - and the other side works for Hitler.
And the wealthy harvest the wealth of the nation...with both of their help.

Whatever.  I'm not changing the minds of those whose core values revolve around identity politics.  So, I don't care which side of the duopoly gets into office.  I understand where it goes.
Best of luck.  Hope your side wins if that makes you happy!
But it doesn't matter.

Your right.  Kamala doesn't have dementia.
And Kamala is a Gen X'er.  It's about time for the dinosaurs to let go of the reins.
