Ireland Cheapest Call Rate From Thai Mobile

Featured Replies

Hi

I spent over an hour last night checking the various Mobile phone providers rates to find the cheapest call rate to a Ireland (say landline mainly) from a Thai Mobile phone.

The best rate I think I found was like 25 Bhat a minute.... dial 008 or 009 I cannot remeber which one... while countries like USA and UK were as low as 5 - 9 bhat a minute. :o

Now I did alot of research, and also emailed all the Mobile provides last night and asked them the rates, but did not get an email reply from anyone yet!

I check on the following http://www.pattayaexpatsclub.com/telephonetips.htm

and checked

http://www.cattelecom.com

http://www.dtac.co.th/en/default.aspx

http://www.totweb.net/eng/default.aspx

http://www.ttt.co.th/home/home.php

http://www.happydprompt.com

and also AIS.

So I feel I am entitled to ask for help at this stage!

Does anyone know of any other ways to get a lower rate to Ireland, if I have to use Thai Mobile to make business calls when away from my PC where i use an irish VOIP service and Skype as a back up.

(I hate to make business calls on skype from thai net cafes, as quality is so bad, and people listening, noise etc etc)

Thanks

Gerry

TOT/008 24 baht/min.

TOT/007 24 baht/min.

CAT/009 24 baht/min.

001 30 baht/min.

You could get a smartphone which could run a VoIP client (like Skype) and use GPRS/WiFi for connectivity.

Occasionally you see these high rates to certain countries, presumably there are not interconnect agreements in place?
