Deputy Prime Minister General Prawit Wongsuwan visited Rayong’s Labour Rehabilitation Centre with Labour Minister Suchart Chomklin, Deputy Labour Minister Narumon Pinyosinwat and executives of the ministry yesterday (August 24).

Prawit thanked ministry officials for helping Thai and foreign labourers during the Covid-19 crisis by mitigating the impact from unemployment and wage cuts that several employers have undertaken to keep their businesses afloat.

The deputy premier also announced “urgent policies” for the ministry to implement to improve the labour situation after the crisis. They are:

> Improve efficiency in preventing human trafficking and illegal, unreported and unregulated fishing to upgrade Thailand’s anti-human-trafficking status to Tier 1.

> Promote up-skilling and re-skilling of labourers to suit changing markets and employers’ needs, as well as educate workers on modern technologies.

> Continue providing aid to labourers affected by the Covid-19 crisis, both those under social security and those who are not.

> Monitor and prevent the spread of Covid-19 among labourers from Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia, who are allowed to work in Thailand until March 31, 2022.

“Most importantly, Labour Ministry officials must prioritise the safety and welfare of workers and ensure they are properly treated and rehabilitated in cases of accident at work, and receive benefits they are legally entitled to, so that they can continue to support themselves and their families as functioning members of society,” Prawit added.

A bit like Angelo Muscat in The Prisoner. He was good at funerals.

Urgent?  Economy in shambles, unemployment through the roof, people starving, and all of sudden it's a problem?  Here we are in late August and he says "Urgent"?  He needs a promotion.

i can relate.  somehow have to get this to relate to the economy or we will be scolded (personal messages ya know).    So let me just say that       if all the out of work people here in Thailand would

follow our lead.    early to bed and early to rise.  take a pee.  think about how you and your countrymen

will go about changing this feardemic  into positive energy.  Demand better prices for the farmers .

Create critical thinking classes where sensible alternatives can be found instead of strangling lockdowns.    Teach all persons in the tourist industry the importance of good and fair practices .

Limit the mindless iphone games and facehole addiction.

god,  must have nodded off.    what a dream !   B2Bed      som    som    som  som tommmmmmm

If  this thug is advocating for regular working people they should be afraid, very, very afraid.  The best he could do for this country is for him and his cohorts to get back to the barracks.
