rooster59
Govt: Bt3,000 Handout Will Not Help Conglomerates BANGKOK, Sept 4 (TNA) –The government’s plan to hand out 3,000 baht to 15 million people was aimed to stimulate the economy and help general people and small vendors, not conglomerates, according to a spokesperson. Deputy government spokeswoman Traisulee Traisaranakul denied some online media organization’s criticism that the cash handout initiative would benefit the owners of department stores and convenience stores. She said that the plan would help people reduce their cost of living and was aimed at encouraging people to spend at shops, grocery stores, food and beverage stalls and markets. It was aimed at distributing money to small operators, so people were allowed to spend no more than 100 baht a day and the government would pay 50% of the sum. fangless
Is this a new "handout" or just referencing the earlier ones?
Popular Post ThailandRyan
How is 3,000 baht for all those over 18, going to help reduce there cost of living if they are capped at 100 baht per day. Might put 3 meals a day into there bellies, but sure as hell ain't gonna pay bills such as rent. Electricity, water or use of public transport. Once again to many restrictions, but they will be able to track those in the program and learn all about there movements.

Isaan sailor
Conglomerates, and especially exporters, don’t need government handouts. Sure, the people do need them. But exporters large and small need a competitive currency. They sure have headwinds now.

ThailandRyan
So food Panda and Grab Food as well as Lineman must not be part of the promotion. Once again the money meant for those in need still finds a way to filter to those who have more than they need. Go figure.....
Grumpy John
So the meeting with the, so called, elites of business is going to pay off for....the elites of business! Back when the previous monkey madness scheme was in action I was in big C Muang Phitsanulok and the line of people waiting to go through the 2 designated checkouts was 150 + people long. Let the rich get richer and the people getting handouts sore feet from standing for hours.
