toast1
I have a bank statement in Excel. Is there any way to search for a name, then have the search results bring up all transactions with this name, in a list. Instead of having to search through everything, have a complete list of every search result for that name. Thank you
Crossy
You should be able to do it with the filter. Look behind the DATA tab for the Filter (funnel thingy), select it. Then select the filter for the column with the names in (bottom right corner of the column header), enter the name in the Search box, then choose "Select all search results". You should then end up with just transactions with that name.
fangless
Have you tried the "Find and Select" function on the Home Tab?

torturedsole
Alt H S F in Excel to create filter dropdown in header row. No need to highlight multiple cells, simply that you're in a header cell then use the dropdown in the name column that you so refer to filter by the required name. You'll need to unselect all names in the filter and re-select the one name that you require filtered. If you're really brave then press CTRL+down arrow key in the header filter cell and all your options appear before you. This is assuming you're using Windows.
