They don't deport anyone, they will just be on overstay. Not the end of the world after all it's quite common overstaying ,if you have been to a land border at least once you know what I mean.

 

But it's very silly to think that they will do an announcement on the 22nd when all the info for all the visa classes involved in the visa amnesty have been dispatched 2 months ago..

Is 100k the actual number who have not obtained a visa/visa extension in preparation for the resumption of normal procedures after the 26th?

 

There are normally many more illegals than that in the country anyway.

 

Whatever the number Immigration will probably not immediately set out on a major round-up.

 

They will carry on as usual. With perhaps a greater expectation that the next non-SEA foreigner they chance upon will be lacking the required "papers", which may motivate individual officers/sections looking to up their "score".

 

Then the standard process.....fine, detention, a flight out (paid for by the detainee) and a ban from returning.

 

I believe that is the procedure........the old normal.
