A million+ Ya Ba and 400 kilos of heroin seized: Thai drugs cops announce latest arrests

Thailand's drug suppression police announced the latest arrests of 13 suspects and the seizure of Ya Ba, Heroin and assets worth well in excess of 100 million baht in four separate cases.

 

A gang with a million Ya Ba (methamphetamine mixed with caffeine) were arrested at a gas station in Cha-Am, Phetchaburi after transporting the drugs from Nakhon Sri Thammarat in the south. Several vehicles were also seized from the gang. 

 

In a second case 400 kilos of heroin hidden in fertilizer sacks was found in a pick-up under canvas at a checkpoint in Nakhon Sawan. A gang had been followed by the police  from Phetchabun's Phu Thap Berk area.

In a third case a 57 year old Myanmar man on overstay was caught with 42,000 Ya Ba pills at the Suksawat apartment in Bang Pakok, Bangkok.

 

In the final case a man and woman were arrested on warrants for Ya Ba dealing and gun charges in Phetchabun. Two vehicles worth 10 million baht were seized as part of this inquiry.

Not so many as once, but Burma have quite a few,where they process

into Heroin, passes through Thailand to end up been exported, mostly.

The drugs are now worth nothing as they will be destroyed so all they really have is 10 mil baht for the cars.

Where did this Heroin come from and how did it get in, the country has been closed for many months, no way in or out.

There are other ways into Thailand besides border crossings, a boat across the Mekong for example.

100 million, 19 people on the pic. A bit more than 5 per head. Not a good deal.

The movie American Gangster portrayed how H produced in the Golden Triangle of Thailand , Burma and Laos was trafficked to the U S in the 60's , early 70's .. artistically licensed up but the essence of it about a lot of H being produced in S E Asia is quite accurate .. 

400 KG heroin,,,,,,,,,, somebody will be hurting, that is a bigger bust than the girls in Hooters

Plus the new Chief of Police made an order that all roadblock

checks should be stopped,all the couriers transporting drugs

from Mae Sai, will be very pleased to hear that.

There seems an awful lot of pills in Thailand, could it be that its the same ones just being recirculated?

 

Few years ago my thai boxing instructor was sacked from his gym because he was selling drugs for the police and then informing the police of whom he sold to and therefore arrests were made. (This is what the owner told me)

 

Anyway a few months later went back to the same gym and the guy was back their training people, so i asked the owner how come he was allowed back to work...the answer....we got busy!

 

Could'nt make it up love the country but what goes it beyond belief.

I read that years ago - great reading.  Back around 1980 on a trip up north, I saw a field of poppies very close to a military/police checkpoint.
