   Oh, my.  That's an awful lot of heavy lifting trying in vain to justify all those Republican flip flops.  Really clutching at straws with the who holds the Senate argument.  If you read the Republican senator statements in 2016, I don't see that even mentioned--but even if it was it holds no water. Almost all gave as their reason that the next President should fill the seat.  Republican senator Gardner's statement is typical:  “… the next president of the United States should have the opportunity to fill the vacancy on the Supreme Court.” March 16, 2016.  Or, how about McConnell?  "Given that we are in the midst of the presidential election process, we believe that the American people should seize the opportunity to weigh in.” Feb. 18, 2016.  No mention of the Senate.

I think you are wrong. I have read many creative excuses as to why nobody wants to turn up to see the frontrunner by a country mile in this runup. Biden is whacking Trump in the polls, he must have a huge momentum with his fans.
