It's those certain measures which are the issue. They have no idea what measures to use, as is evident from the daily flip flop on the proposals to date. The whole thing is just a comedy show.

Why do some countries not follow the advice of the WHO? They also said that the deadly rate of corona is 0.13% which is the same as a normal virus.....

So who's crazy now?

New lock downs also in France, Germany and the UK.  I doubt Thailand will allow citizens in from those Countries, until their R numbers are down again.

In Thailand the overall death rate to date is 0.00008% which, when you really think about it, is not a great cause for concern. Compare this with the Black plague, which took out 50% of Europe,s population, and you have a relative death rate of 625,000 times more deadly. Ain,t maths great ????

The main point is he wants the tourists' money to revive the economy. He doesn't care about the tourists themselves.

China's just had to lock down a city of 9 million people, so no matter what their official numbers may say, they're clearly not free of the virus. It's really taking off again in large parts of Europe, and showing signs of doing the same in the US. Australia seems to be content to stay locked-down for another year or more, so where are all these tourists going to come from?

"I no longer have contempt for your money."

Bring in everyone who wants to come and see if a second wave happens .

We haven't got the first wave yet, only a little taste. I guess I will have to stop buying these cheap mask now that we will be over run by Chinese.

Not a good time to open now I don’t think!   About to go to war with protesters again, just saying.

Please stop opening your mouth publicly until the various Gov departments are all in agreement and you are actually ready to fully implement whatever like-to-be-unsuccessful plan you dream up next.

Until you fully comprehend who is hurting and exactly why they are hurting, you will not be able to fix the problem. A plane load of Chinese tourists on a carefully orchestrated package tour is not going to help the millions of small business that have collapsed thanks to Covid-19 and related incompetence by those in the current administration.

.....but they have to come in max groups of five or be arrested.

Ready for all foreign tourists except those that write negative reviews on trip advisor on hotels after refusing to pay corkage

Especially if it's coming from 'Anutin the Racist'.

Thailand lost its charms 15 years ago.

Maybe opening up and a bit of Covid is a potential great distractor from other events/needs?

Well he's certainly not got a lot of that so best not put him at the forefront

Anutin Charnvirakul, speaking after being buoyed by praise from the WHO, said that Thailand was completely on top of Covid-19, ready for foreign tourists and ready for that to kickstart the whole Thai econom

WHO are a bunch of liars,  they said there was no human to human contact from covid-19, ask anyone from China other than the CCP.

People with agendas of their own are deliberately distorting words spoken by one WHO official in an interview (not an official WHO position statement ...one individual talking) and further distorted what that person said.

Would those be words of another WHO Official distorting the WHO statement then ?

I first came 18 years ago with my Aussie partner and I  though Thailand had a never ending supply of nubile young charmers and by day 2 I  was deeply regretting having bought Sharon.  15 years ago I Came on my own and found heaven on earth.  We See it differently ay!

No, they never said that.

At the very beginning of the outbreak, when all the known cases had a tie to the same market selling wildlife, they said there was no proof at that time of/ it was not known if thete was/ human to human transmission.

A very, very different statement.

Obviously it soon proved to he the case that there was human to human transmission.

No. Mothing wrong with what he daid. It is simply being distorted and intentionally misreported.

For how long will he be minister? Swan song?

Mass tourism is not going to happen for a very long time , also business people will not fly, cheaper to use zoom.

Also airlines are laying off thousands of workers so they have seen the writing on the wall.

Anutin: 'the country is completely ready to reignite mass foreign tourism'. taken,,,,

But no mention whatever about quarantine, negative test reports, when/where tests taken/speed of test reports ...

If Khun Anutin wants to move forward with mass tourist quickly he needs to bite the bullet and mention/explain all of these points.

ahem....not to mention health insurance..   doh I shouldn't have mentioned health insurance... doh doh...

Kick it off with a 90 day voa to all white people and we could get shake things up.

A ' Charming '  3 million baht in a Thai Bank account will be a good start

towards having your Visa approved.  But please wait, because tomorrow

there may be yet another ' update '.

Subject to "Certain Conditions" .........as usual!
