"longhorn" Server Open For Testing

Dear all,

After the first experiences with Microsoft Windows Server "Longhorn" Beta3 I had setup a Web Server.

To test this server under "real" condition I need to get some "Traffic" up and down. How to do this?

I think the best way is to open the Server to the public and let others "play" online! :o

Today I'll open the server for the Members of Thaivisa. There a few Limitations, 1. the personell account has a limited space of 100 MByte per User; 2. only "legal" stuff is allowed or placed on the server; 3. all files placed under the Virtual drives "A-Download" and "A-Upload" are free for download an use to the public; 4. in the forum use a "normal" Language and the same rules as in TV. :D Offenders will be banned directly without prior Notice! :D

The Server runs on an Intel Pentium 4 CPU 3,2 GHz with Asus MB, 1 Byte Memory, 80 B SATA HDD an "Lonhorn" as OS. The Server Software is Easy File Sharing Webserver 4.1 which includes a Forum as well.The server is connected to the Internet via NO-IP.COM with dynamic IP and auto-update every 20 min.

To access the server use the following URL: http://web.pcinfoservice.com . After open the 1. page, click on Register a new account an fill in the require data. Please use a "real" E-Mail address because in case of loosing the password you can easy retrieve it by click on Forgot Password an the password will be send to the e-mail you registered with. While registering, a personell account is created automatically for private use. This account isn't accessible from others user. The space is limited to 100 MByte.

Note: This server is not open for to running Websites of users or any other hosting. Remember also that the OS is a BETA 3 relase and for testing.

Any Suggestions, Infos etc. are very welcome! Please use this server freely and let others profit from your experiences.

I'll start tomorrow to place some programs: Freeware and maybe some Shareware on the server.

Thanks

Dear all!

After the first experiences with user's connecting to the Server, I have to change some of the procedure.

The reason for to do so are quite easy. Some User's do NOT use a real E-Mail address. Others do Not reply for the Confirmation E-Mail. Some downloaded directly everything what was been accessible.

This Server is mandatory limited to Members of Thaivisa only without any acception. The Signup process now will be finished after approval from the Admin only and the account will be accessible after the return of the Confirmation E-Mail.

The new rules now for to signup and later logon to the server will be:

1.: The Username MUST be the Thaivisa user name;

2.: The submitted E-Mail must be a real E-Mail;

3.: The account is disabled until the Admin aproof it;

4.: The Confirmation E-Mail must be reply within 24 h.

I hope everybody understand the above mentioned procedure.

Thanks
