I would love to find a site that can tell you the number of planes landed per day in Bkk and tell you where they flew from . I bet it would show less than 10 private planes in a week ! More lies from them .

As for saying Thailand almost has the virus completely under control ???? . That’s like walking around Chernobyl without a Geiger counter and saying it’s safe ! 

For sure if they have the money to have private jets. and loads of dosh in the bank why would they come to Thailand. There are much better place for the rich

More subs,thanks,helicopters, personal carriers. But what monies going the Thai people's way directly. My Thai friend and his wife both worked in a large sized G House both temporary laid off .Due to the fact tourists aren't allowed in the country under the Government's policies G House closed .Applied for The 5000Baht Government hand out and were informed they didn't qualify.

All thought the Government won't except it from the Amnesty visa hand out corona virus is here to stay like the cold and flu virus . The latest Virus though is more server and needs awareness.

Thailand certainly does not have the virus "under control". No country on earth can control this virus. Certainly not the UK, Italy or Spain with extreme lockdowns.

The virus has just not exploded in Thailand and Germany, but for some reason it has in the UK.

that's why the door needs to remain closed, many other countries have seemingly good intentions but their populace lack the intelligence to keep vigilant..

These guys paid an arm and a leg for the stupid elite card.....I don't much care if they get special privileges for it....indeed why pay through the nose for the card if you can't even use the visa?

 

The most serious thing in all this is the sheer incompetence of the government. They have no strategy.....all they have is a series of gimmicks like a low-end shoe store....'penny off this week only'.

They really need to ditch the gimmicks and devise a strategy for bringing the tourists back....in the real world. Clearly they are unable to do it themselves so, much as I am not a fan of management consultants, place a call to McKinsey and get some <deleted> brainpower on the problem.....but first fire Anutin.

Please Logosone enlighten me where did these 2800 to 8200 deaths in Thailand of Covid come from. Myself along with 69 million other people in the country have been led to believe that the death rate stands at 59. I'd be very interested to read the information that you have.

There was a lot of "Viral Pneumonia" deaths reported at the start of the year  then abruptly the website stopped updating the information..the website was listed somewhere on here (Thaivisa)

I have the money for all that Elite nonsense and fully considered it and even started a thread about getting an Elite Visa back in July. However...am ever so much more disgusted and disillusioned with Land of Stupid than even have been during the past 5-10 years...that I do not want to spend another baht in that warped and idiotic place EVER. 

 

Thailand was only ever good when it was a silly free-for-all, anything goes, look the other way, mai pen rai, third world <deleted>hole which was the laughing stock of the civilized world and they KNEW it and laughed right along with us. NOW it's still all of the above, the same old silly, idiotic <deleted>hole, yet even stupider...but takes itself way too seriously and tries to pretend it's somehow on par with the civilized world.

There were some 3,600 + reports of an unknown Viral Pneumonia reported, as far back as early November 2019

Thailand just cannot attract higher end tourists and expats anymore. There are countless things the government could be doing, if they wanted to attract the high quality tourists, and rich ex-pats, and go for quality over quantity. Rich tourists like to spend money when they travel. And they cannot do that here, as they do not like getting taken for a ride. Most wealthy people are smart with their money. Thailand could be making a fortune on a 25% luxury tax. Instead of the 100% of more, which discourages most people from buying. How many people do you see in the luxury stores here? They are almost always completely empty. Inane. Beyond inane. The focus on quantity over quality will continue to erode the nation on countless levels. More is rarely better. It just lowers the quality of life for nearly everyone, creates more congestion, more smog, more traffic, longer lines at immigration, and makes life difficult, especially in the big cities.

 

Quantity over quality is never a good thing, unless you are selling one dollar items at a swap meet. It just lowers the quality of the experience for all.

 

These issues and problems were becoming apparent long before Covid. And none were being addressed. That is part of my point. Tourism had been declining for years already. The numbers were up. But the quality of tourist was way down. And according to everyone I spoke to last year, the year before and the year before that, income was way, way down. So, this blame it all on Covid scenario is somewhat disengenuous. Sure, Covid is huge. And the drop now is stunning. But, my point is there were plenty of issues prior to Covid.

A bit off topic, headlines today in France that China has released the vaccin and has vaccinated half a million Chinese, mainly students and business Travellers. Cost 25/ 28 $. Apparently, they have been accepted into the international medical corps as being  * ok* sorry cant remember the term they used. If so, be prepared to have many Chinese tourists in the near future. Of course, the proof of the pudding ........

My friend has just arrived from Uk via Dubai. and is staying at the royal suite hotel in bangkok. he has wife and a son here he now just told me he has 2 weeks quarantine then can join his love ones  has a non o b visa . If he can do it why can't the others who are stranded in the Uk?
