BANGKOK (NNT) - The Ministry of the Interior’s Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration has instructed governors of border provinces to enforce measures according to the national Emergency Decree and other related announcements to control the movement of cross-border merchants and goods transportation, particularly the entry into the kingdom of freight workers.

With this instruction, provincial communicable diseases committees have the power to designate specific parking space for freight carrying vehicles from neighbouring countries, and allow only essential freight workers to enter the country.

The provincial communicable diseases committees must appoint an official as a commander at each border crossing where movements of persons, goods, and vehicles are still allowed. The commanding officials can regulate, issue orders, and facilitate border movements to ensure compliance with related laws and regulations.

The officials must review all border movement issues which may have occurred, and report on the operations to their respective Provincial Communicable Diseases Committee.

Just read in the Post that 12 Thais were caught crossing illegally.  They were trying to escape the spread of the virus there.

There are lots of people entering Thailand illegally. Easy to cross the Mekong river from Laos to Thailand.

Well the Thais should provide designated landing spots manned by IO's.  That should fix the problem. 555
