Although they've been on the market for about a year, I didn't run into dotmobi until today ... The general idea seems to be that all pages on sites like "www.whatever.mobi" will fit nicely into the small screens of hand held devices.

Just wondering if anyone got some sort of experience with these .mobi domains? - Be it as a user or as a publisher. My concern is whether one better jump on the train, before all good seats are taken, or whether that train would be just a waste of money and effort.

If you know as little about dotmobi as I knew yesterday - google 'dotmobi'. After clicking around a bit you may be more knowledgeable than me.

I think a short answer might be trying dotmobi.org which if memory serves was a key entry into the 'market'. Though maybe it's a temporary fault.

I think they're a flop. I almost bought a bunch and I'm glad I listened to my doubts and didn't. It's not like you need them to do something a .com or .net won't.
