Enquiring on behalf of a friend. If in possession of non-B employment ends, does that have consequences for right to stay? Is there a difference between non-B obtained abroad and extension locally obtained?

A non-b visa will remain valid until it expires since it is not tied to a job like a extension of stay based upon working is.

That is one of the advantages of having a multiple entry non-b visa.

In case it is an extension, this will end on the day when his job ends.

This is also stated on the "STM2" form which they let you sign when applying for an extension.
