There is a report from an Udon area resident who reported in person to Buriram he reported being told

I had thought that it must be your local office only.

 

Has there been a recent change, has this always been true or is this a unique to Buriram situation?

No change that I am aware of. Perhaps a officer being lenient.

Think this is that old chestnut which states that visa extensions and 90-day reports etc are

undertaken at all immigration offices nationwide, without adding the caveat that you can

actually only do so in the province you are located.

Did you notice that the home province is Udon and the office that accepted the report is Buriram. Also that it is a case that has just happened, nothing to do with written policy?

Were there too many posts for you to read?

Think that's harsh.

Thinking this is an outlier. 

Maybe the io given covid etc decided to let it pass to wicket keeper.

We all know 90 report needs to be done at office you deal with. 

So means little.

The point is that immigration policies do change without changes being widely publicised so this could have been the situation.

 

& this is only the 6th post so the other poster didn’t bother to read or understand  the 2 before, so harsh?

Cut to chase. Let the thread run and see how many posts of being able to do 90 day address report in person at different imm office than you deal with.

FWIW I have no contact with Buriram immigration.

FWIW.....providing you have proof of accommodation in the province you are reporting in, it can be done; even if you've just checked in. Before office opened in Phrae, Nan was tasked to take care of Phrae residents. Chiang Mai was closer and it was never a problem to do 90 day report there and they accepted Agoda confirmation as proof of residence.
