When it is realised that that tourists previously enjoyed places like Phuket for the open spaces, not over crowding, for the outdoor peace and quiet, not over run by traffic and fumes, for the local cuisine, not western hotel buffets, for the relaxed local population not those pressured by economic survival, then they may be able to recreate something which has been casually discarded  and replaced by corporate profit. Years ago Phuket was a beautiful relaxing place, a pleasure to visit, now I wouldn't bother

1980s and 1990s.  Phuket was the best.  Even the early 2000s.  But something happened after that and it was actually evil. Too many people coming to phuket.  Too much bad energy. It’s now very nice again. Local people should come and enjoy. It’s very nice now.
