if you want great beef check with Colin Robert at Sangsee Farm he has cross breed Wagyu and Aussie cattle here. He's on facebook. If you want smoked chicken wings check with check with Ian Kalway at Lord of the Wings Chiang Mai, he's on FB also

How is that even possible.   Wagyu labelling, what BS.  People still fall for that :cheesy:

Here's some light reading for you from the internet .
 

Yes, you absolutely can—and it’s already been done extensively. Outside Japan, Wagyu cattle have been crossbred with other breeds, most commonly Angus, to create hybrids that combine Wagyu’s signature marbling with the hardiness and growth rates of other cattle.

This practice began in earnest after a limited number of Wagyu were exported from Japan in the 1970s and early 1990s, before Japan declared them a national treasure and shut down further exports. Since then, countries like the U.S., Australia, and Canada have developed “purebred” and “percentage” Wagyu lines. For example, a crossbred animal that is 93.75% Wagyu (after four generations of breeding back to fullblood Wagyu) is considered a purebred under American Wagyu Association standards.

These crossbreeds are popular in the premium beef market because they offer a balance of rich marbling and efficient meat production. So while Japan keeps its fullblood genetics tightly controlled, the rest of the world has built thriving Wagyu programs from the original exported stock

 

@Dan O  Might be some decent beef, but doesn't look like Wagyu to me ... and wouldn't be graded Wagyu in Japan.

 

Hard to find any beef not labeled Wagyu now.  Sort of like people saying they are part Irish on St Paddy's day.  A crossbred Wagyu cow (no longer Wagyu), being crossbred to another breed, isn't Wagyu.

 

Label it what you want, but don't try to sell it in Japan, as you may end up in jail.

if you bothered to actual read they have different grades and he sells bms 3 thru bms 6 but you selected random pics to support yourself after I pointed out your misunderstanding that wagyu cant be cross bred because it cant leave japan, including semen and embroys which both are false. 

 

News flash we are not in Japan now are we? Did anyone suggest to sell thai beef of any kind in Japan? No the OP asked for contacts which I supplied

I obviously did read, as took the snap from their FB page, and as the grade goes up, so does the price 15-45%.   Though actually cheap enough to start per kilo, which also is telling.  Far from what would be considered high grade Wagyu beef.  Does look nice though.

Happy with Harvey brand (from AU), whole tenderloins that I get from Makro, at fraction of cost per kg.  Sacrifice a bit of flavor, for guaranteed tenderness vs other cuts of beef.  Cook with Beef Tallow, to compensated, and turn out delicious steaks.

Are you really that dense? I never said this is 100% wagyu beef, but you keep up the false statements.  I clearly said it's cross breed so stop with your asinine comparison to Japan and 100% wagyu.

 

You pay for the quality you get and the same would be true if you were in Japan buying wagyu of any grade. So to imply the starting price is some type of mystery deception fits with your mis-information. You've most likely never tried Sangsee based on your comments so you have no idea of their quality or how it compares to Makro beef (hahahaha). That statement of yours is very telling about you and your knowledge of the topic I presented to the OP.

 

If you like your Makro beef you go with that but move on as you dont have the knowledge of the quality to have any conversation or misleading claims as a comparison.

Semantics, but a crossbred is not Wagyu beef to me.  Should not be labelled so, it's just beef.

 

I didn't state or imply that the price is deceptive.  Actually quite the opposite.  You get what you pay for, and Wagyu for under 2000 THB a kilo ... nuff said

 

Also stated the beef looks nice for TH, and implied priced appropriately.   A little reading comprehension would go a long way with some members.

i agree reading helps but comprehension is equally important so go back and read what was written and think for a moment about it. You keep stating Wagyu as your reference and that wasnt what was stated that was available.

If I suggested 7-11, I'm sure many would have a different opinion and reply 'appropriately'.    Beef is always going to be a touching subject, as very subjective.

 

And yea, on topic, for someone to ask, I actually would suggest 7-11 for prepared meals.   Though sample some, before ordering blind, as I'd suggest from any vendor.  Along with Pizza Co, when having 2 for 1 pizza deals, which we've had 2X this month.  Possibly ending in 3 or 4 days.

 

Makro has a wide selection of pre maid meals, and will deliver, along with everything they sell.  I've never sampled their pre made meals though.  Good chance OP's favorite restaurants deliver.

Thank you - this is so typical of any query I make - I want to know what is available and what people are pleased with ordering and from where...

 

I did get a couple of suggestions which I do appreciate...

 

But this has turned into a battle about Wagyu Beef - which I am not the least bit interested in...

 

So it goes. 

@1FinickyOne If you test out Makro's selection of pre made, let us know how they tasted.  Having a wide selection of items.

If you can't find Boar's Head, that Harvey picanha (฿599 or 799 / kg ?) makes a nice roast beef, pictured above, along with giving plenty of fat to render down for tallow for future use.

Global Impact:

While originating in Japan, Wagyu breeds and their genetics have spread globally, with Australia being a major producer of Wagyu outside of Japan. 

All I will say is any offerings and suggestions above are bound to be better than what I bought for steak this last week from Lotus's.

 

Absolutely lousy, my jaw hurt, and I gave up and passed it to the dogs.

 

The second piece, I tried slow cooking, still tough as shoe leather but not as tasty.

 

I'll try some of the above suggestions.

If don't mind playing butcher, got some room in freezer, or got a few mouths to feed, Makro's Harvey brand (AU) has decent whole tenderloins & picanhas.   Some large, some not so.  

 

It's nice cutting a 1 1/2" to 2" steaks, instead of the crap the other chains offer.  I do miss a neighbor butcher & Deli shop.   Most here are silly priced.
