Popular Post snoop1130
No long stay-tourists infected yet: Health Ministry By The Nation So far, no long-stay tourists have been found infected with Covid-19, though health authorities have urged Thais to keep their guard up after a symptomless man tested positive in Krabi last week. The rare local case was an Indian restaurant worker aged 37 and living in Muang district. He was found to be infected during a routine work-permit test at Krabi Hospital last Wednesday. He is thought to have contracted the disease abroad before arriving in Thailand three months ago and remaining asymptomatic. Tests on 19 close contacts of the infected man have come back negative, while 32 contacts are in quarantine. Dr Sopon Iamsirithaworn, chief of the Communicable Diseases Division, praised Krabi locals for not panicking and urged them to report to a medical facility if they experienced a fever, cough, respiratory symptoms, or lost their sense of smell. Thailand is gradually opening its tourism industry via Special Tourist Visas (STV) offered to residents of countries at low risk of Covid19 transmission, such as China, Vietnam, Taiwan, South Korea, Australia and New Zealand. The Public Health Ministry reports that so far, all tests on long-stay STV tourists in alternative state quarantine hotels have come back negative. Not too dissimilar to what I thought they would say when a long post-quarantine STV tourist caught it: Thailand to track tourists with digital wristbands I just noticed the error I made regarding the number of weeks after leaving quarantine. That portion should have read: "Tourist gets blame for carrying a "new strain" of virus that "hid" during pre-visit test, quarantine and the following 4 weeks" Edited November 9, 2020 by Enoon

Thailand, the land of lies and false narratives. The powers that be here don't care at all about all the scientific knowledge and common sense in the rest of the world. They follow strictly their political agenda and feed their propaganda machinery accordingly. Now they lie blatantly when they say he arrived three months ago, as he arrived already nine months ago. But who cares? If they repeat their lies often enough, almost everybody in this country of gullible people will believe this BS. By assigning all evil and all danger to foreigners, foreign countries and foreign powers, they try to stabilize the political and social system. And sadly this is a proven strategy in totalitarian countries. It has been working well for the Prayut administration so far, too. Even the democracy protesters don't complain much about the Covid lies of the government, at least when it is about foreigners. And we Western foreigners are the main victims of these fabricated stories. So disgusting, so disillusioning, so scathing ???? 14

That's the way it reads, but he has been here for 9 months not 3 from reading another article, had it been 3 he would have already passed through quarantineand I do not see any indication of that. Kind of a damaging report if what they are saying is true. However, being asymptomatic and the Thais not testing the population without showing symptoms makes it assured that there are many asymptomatic people here. Even if you have a minor cold you do not go to the hospital to get tested or treated, you self medicate by going to a pharmacy if necessary. ThailandRyan
I posted the same article yesterday in another OP. When we are all free of domestic transmissions.. Or have we given up on that argument? Or, were they administered the new domestic vaccine before release... Indian chaps case of testing positive after being around for 9 months is sufficient evidence that we have been dealing with smokes and mirrors for quite a while
