November 11, 20205 yr Any recent reports from the last few days from Chiang Mai? I've read most were turned away and the one who wasn't just got 30 days. However, in Bangkok you will get 60 days. You must, however, bring an embassy letter or an email saying they're not issuing them anymore. For Americans, request a letter and take that email with you. I thought embassy letters were not required. And I thought extensions were unlimited at 60 days. If I must go to Bangkok to do an extension so be it.

November 13, 20205 yr US Embassy website says if you are American, a letter is not needed. But yeah, probably helps to bring a screenshot/email.

November 13, 20205 yr In Phuket (and probably majority of other offices) they give new 60-days extension without embassy letter, TM30 is needed (my parents didn't had it, so officer said "just check-in in any hotel a night before", lol)... Yesterday picked up their passports, stamp is until Dec/30, officer calmly said "come before Dec/30 to get another 60-days"... So easy, and less than 10 people.
