4 years only

Featured Replies

I`ve  heard that a person, having work permit (basically  farang) can not be on a fulltime  job position fro more than 4 years. At least as far as it concerns schools/education industry. Is this sort of rumour true?

I have never heard of such a limit.

Could it be that somebody reached the limit for teaching license waivers.

I know a guy who's been living and working in Thailand at the same place for at least 10 years uninterrupted and without any problems.

Yes.. It has to do with teaching licence waivers at which point you need to undertake the steps for license.

Not true, Richard Barrow works for the same school for decades.

I've been at the same place for over 20 years and did about 8 years in the previous institution, both in education.

Wondering,  could it be so that it depends on the institution each one having its own regulations....

And I know people who have been working in education, same place, for about 10 years. Never heard of the 4 year limit before.

Sure but keep in mind that there are different rules/regulations applicable to different types of schools and different government schools/privately owned schools.

I have been working for the same company for 14 years - on my second work permit book now!
