Thailand to launch nationwide Covid-19 vaccination in May

Doctor warns of possible second wave of COVID-19 spread by illegal returnees

Associate Professor Dr. Thira Woratanarat, of the Faculty of Medicine at Chulalongkorn University, said today that infected illegal Thai returnees, from Myanmar’s Thachilek township, pose a high risk of a second wave of infections in Thailand and urged officials to be especially vigilant over for the next two weeks.

BTSC justifies its decision to make maximum fare on Green Line most expensive

The Bangkok Mass Transit System (BTSC) insists that the Bt65 maximum fare on the BTS Green Line is reasonable, while the Transport Ministry is ready to explain the fare calculation at a meeting with the prime minister and Interior Ministry.

Four new COVID-19 cases in Chiang Rai as hotels see a rise in cancellations

Another four new COVID-19 cases were reported in Chiang Rai province yesterday {Thursday), making seven in the last week, including the first locally-transmitted case in eight months. Three of the four cases are Thai women who worked at the 1G1 Hotel in Myanmar’s Thachilek and are among six Thais who returned today through the Friendship Bridge immigration checkpoint in Mae Sai district.

Thai Charter Court files police complaint against protest leaders for allegedly insulting the court

A complaint was lodged with the Technology Crime Suppression Division (TCSD) by Thailand’s Constitutional Court today against protest leader Parit Chiwarak, aka “Penguin”, and other core members of the Ratsadon group, for allegedly making insulting remarks about the court during the protest at Lat Phrao intersection on Wednesday.
