If you look at a country like India there are not many alcoholics. Why? They have  spiritual, community and cultural life that keeps them occupied. Young people are not getting into drugs and alcohol. So that is something western countries need to learn.

Hahaha... there is a reason why one of the two strains of ganga is scientifically named "Indica"... its use is probably what birthed what you laud as the sub-continent's spirituality, culture and culture.

The western world is so spiritually dead they need drugs and alcohol just to mentally survive. You get a whole country drunk and stoned and nobody realized what is really wrong.

When did this start? You think life used to be better?

Most of them are not getting into clothing, food, housing, or jobs either. Maybe it's a priority thing?

Many countries have spiritual, cultural, community too. You're overstating your case

I would like to know just what turned the tide to bring about this vote in Congress. Why now? Is decriminalization a reaction to mass incarceration or is it pressure from lobbyists now that a few states have legalized marijuana for medicinal or recreational uses? As stated in the article, as long as cannibas is illegal at the federal level it restricts banking services.

Is it the evangelical lobbyists that keep the Republicans opposed to decriminalization?  The US has built itself upon a foundation of corruption since the ruling on the Citizens United case as well as the revolving door which sits on this foundation that connects Congress and cabinet appointments with Wall Street.

Well, I certainly see enough stories about wedding parties in India where they are drinking the homemade hooch and a whole bunch end up dead.

I don't think the US needs more religion.   Maybe a lot less, though.

the American religion is called greed
