TPDH
Hi Me and my wife are planning on going to Koh Tao and Koh Phangan for 3 nights in both places during Christmas. Mostly for beach and chilling, we're not interested in the full moon party. What is it like there now? Is it a good time to go? Also, what's the fastest way to get to Koh Tao and Koh Phangan from Bangkok? Are the ferries still going as usual? Thanks.
Gulfsailor
The fastest way is to fly to Samui and take the ferry. A more affordable option is to fly to Suratthani and take the ferry from Donsak. Beware of the northeast monsoon this time of year, and Christmas being at the end of the rainy season, so it could still be a bit wet at times. That said, showers generally don’t last very long. Choose accommodations on the West side of the islands, so at least the water is calm and you can enjoy the beach.

delgarcon
The weather in K P has been superb since the rain stopped a week ago. BKK to Samui with Bangkok Air and Lomprayah transfer and ferry to K P is the quickest route and not as expensive as it normally is. Bangkok Air are offering flights at around 50% of pre Covid fares and the saving via Don Mueng and Donsak is not worth saving. Book asap to get the best rates
Popular Post Birdman
....that depends. When arrive and where to go. Seatrans is quicker from the Samui airport to KPG. But not so if Had Rin is the destination. Had Rin Queen would be better. But even quicker are the private hotel shuttle speed boats to hotels at Thong Nai Pan Noi .... BTW, 6 nights at KPG and KT? That I would not call chilling but stress.
