Up to SEVEN million foreign tourists will visit Thailand next year, says leading Thai bank

 

 

Thai business media has reported that the Kasikorn Research Center predicts that between 4.5 and 7 million foreign tourists will visit Thailand next year, 2021.

 

In addition they will spend a whopping 340 to 480 billion baht in the country.

 

What they called a LOW estimate was because of uncertainties surrounding the pandemic and vaccines. 

 

They called for greater clarity abroad about Thailand so that foreigners get the right information.

 

Kasikorn also stressed the need for more government stimulus measures and tax breaks for the ailing tourism sector. 

 

Many Thai watchers will see the bank's estimate as optimistic, notes Thaivisa. To put the predictions in perspective less than 1000 tourists have visited the country on the much criticized STV visa scheme since October.

 

And a 14 day quarantine with all the hoops and expenses that entails remains in place with no change on the horizon despite repeated calls from many business groups in the sector.

Make it 7 Million a month. Looks better and most probably, a billion Chi.... are sitting on their luggages and wait for the green light to come to paradise.

They can’t even predict how long my online banking is gonna be down correctly.

Is there ANYONE yet who didn't offered his/her wishful thinking and tourism predictions yet? it seems that every Dick Tom and Harry ( not sure what are the Thai equivalent to that) has come forward to put their 2 cents worth on the matter...

If they limit the numbers to that every year Thailand might become LOS again. It hasn't been, IMO, this century.

Now it's 430 per month, so even 1k is very optimistic.

No vaccination available worldwide - no mass tourism.

If Thailand would have vaccine from China, it can be send to consulates to inoculate sometimes before travel and possibly have shortish isolation, quarantine

Is there a General in the Kasikorn Research Center? If there isn't, maybe they can loan one..., else I won't believe it.

If they are wrong, nothing will come of it. Maybe "put your money where your mouth is"? Give each Thai citizen 5,000 baht if wrong? Yeah, I didn't think so.... talk is cheap

For a country "that does not need international tourists", like some people were saying, it seems a lot of talks about those not needed tourists...

Problem is with Thai banks, (well in most thai businesses etc) many many forms have to be ,signed ,countersigned photocopied stamped etc, by countless members of staff...the figure was probably 7,000....Trouble is....it had to go through so many people, and so many bank staff stamping the official number of 7000.......each time a 0 was added on!

While the Chinese government is curbing foreign travel.

Using the higher number provided (7 million visitors, 480 Billion) every man, woman, child will be spending on average a whopping 68,574 baht...

And my tallywhacker is gonna triple in size. I mean, if THEY can say such balderdash then so can I.
