PHUKET:-- Three Thai tourists from Bangkok escaped serious injury last night when the car they were travelling in struck a Toyota Fortuner travelling in the opposite direction on a small road near Mai Khao Beach last night (Dec 10).

Excise Dept eyes benefits to promote use of electric vehicles

Upper Thailand gets warmer with morning fog

The Thailand Meteorological Department forecast on Saturday that a weak high-pressure system covers upper Thailand, resulting in temperatures rising by 1-3 degrees Celsius as well as morning fog, including dense fog in some areas. All vehicles should move with caution in foggy areas, the department said.

UK cuts self-isolation period to 10 days for domestic contacts, international arrivals

LONDON (Reuters) - Britain said on Friday it would cut the self-isolation period for COVID-19 to 10 days from 14, in a change which will apply to both those presumed to have been in contact someone with the virus within the country, and those arriving from abroad.

Phuket officials target arrivals from Myanmar as fears of COVID spread rise

PHUKET: Local officials have ramped up their efforts to locate any new arrivals from Myanmar who may have arrived on the island without passing any COVID-19 checks on entering the country. The crackdown comes amid fears that new arrivals from Myanmar may be infected, and start a second wave of infections in Phuket.
